what did you change in the tuning to improve the starting?
Starting issue was due to a vacuum leak and reflashing the tune, it would only stall on the first start as the learned parameters where not there yet.
what do you mean fog lines?
Home made fogger for vacuum line testing
what are Porosity tabs?
GM/delco tabs to help seals to seat right when placed between two non same materials e.x aluminum and iron
are you sure the white smoke isn't condensation or something to do with the air pump.
White smoke was present more so once the car was warmed up and the air pump was turned off
told you the dwell would help!
Yes, Yes you did

OE wont run on .033, went back up to .044 and all is well at idle. Will see how they handle for a week driving. If I get no issue I will just contact Charles as they are brand new coils. Also verified today I have no more vacuum leaks as well.
I did notice that my plugs were severely fouled with only about 1K miles on them since I pulled them and cleaned them. they are all black.

*Update*
Went back to OE coils, on a .044 gap with stock dwell and noticed the car is much smoother and feels more stable. 50 miles on so far no misfires or issues so I will be testing my BHR coils and see what their status is.
Also noticed that my plugs which I pulled and cleaned about 800 miles ago are severely fouled, I cant figure out why. Last time I pulled my plugs they had 1000 miles on them and they were not even close to this condition. If anyone can lend some insight to this?
Also side note, got my blackstone lab reports and the oil was in great condition. No coolant traces and very few traces of abnormal break in deposits.

I do know the leading plugs were firing, I pulled the wires off the trailing and fired the car solely on the leading plugs alone and it fired right up and idle
So i am not sure. the plugs where gapped real low, Cam at pettit recommended a .033 gap which cause a lot of problems when I first put the OE back in the car would not even find idle. Now I have the OE coils and plugs at .044 and everything seems to be really strong.

Coils arrive today, will see how they work out.
Not sure if one was defective, but Charles said he replaced all 4 coils and sent them out to me.
Side note, I have decided on my next project. Everything is coming out again over the winter in order to do it though. Should keep me busy over the cold months.

Just got done reading this thread, amazing build----crazy $$$! Didn't realize he was NA.... I gapped my plugs closer to solve my misfire issues on my FI build.

I have never known of anyone having to gap plugs on an 8 to resolve issues. Assuming they were gapped correctly in the first place and they should be since they come pregapped.

My NGK came gapped at .055, I gapped down to .033 by Cam's request. But once I removed the BHR coils the OE would not fire with such a low gap so I put them back to Mazda spec.
O well, I get my brand new BHR coils this afternoon. Hopefully no more issues with them.
