CEL code P2070?
I finally got a cel tonight. It says the intake manifold tuning valve is stuck open. What is it and how can I fix it? I have the greddy turbo kit if that helps to figure out what is going on.

1) remove the turbo kit (optional... depending on your dealer)
2) take to the dealer
the dealer will then
3) verify the SSV valve is stuck open
4) pull the engine
5) replace the SSV valve and possible manifold
6) put engine back in
...hopefully you have a warranty, if not its around a $2k repair bill

I never got any CEL's on my car before the turbo was installed. After it was installed, I have randomly gotten that CEL. Maybe twice so far. I too have the blocking plate in place. The only other CEL I get sometimes is fuel system too rich. I don't think it's anything to be worried about.
BTW, I use a scangauge II for reading and resetting CEL's. plus it's obd2 powered and has a built in LCD.

The cel light went out, I guess it came unstuck. So what your saying mysql101 is that this is normal and I shouldn't worry about it if it comes on agian right.

everytime you turn the ignition to the ON position the computer goes out and tries to stroke the SSV, if it finds the valve is already open before trying to stroke it for 2 drive cycles in a row, it throws a CEL. It may go away for a while and it may come back to haunt you once its out of warranty in a very painful way.
I would not push a turbo car hard with it stuck open as all your tuning will be thrown out the window once the volumetric efficiency changes from the valve being open before its suppose to be...

SSV is the secondary intake valve, right? And we've got a blocking plate in there preventing it from being functional. The fact that we sometimes get a CEL after the plate is in place (which goes away) seems to be a different situation than a carbon issue.

I'm with mysql on this one. The way the upgrade kit is wired there is a lot going on between the NVCS map, SAIPR, SSV, Dongle, blocking plate, and a resistor. Also, since nobody but Greddy understands it, I would imagine a random cell or 2 is going to be common and not necessarily a problem.

Blocking Plate a good idea?
After seeing this picture of Swoope's Auxiliary Ports I began to wonder if the GReddy Turbo Upgrade Kit blocking plate and APV restrictor is a good idea.
First, the blocking plate prevents air from flowing through the Auxiliary Ports. Essentially making the car a 4 port. In addition to this, GReddy has placed a restrictor in the wiring harness that prevents the Auxiliary Port Valve from opening. The APV cycles each time the ignition is turned off to clear carbon. After running this setup for a period of time, it appears that people are seeing a random P2070 CEL. This CEL is thrown when the Secondary Shutter Valve is stuck. My first question is why do you think this CEL is happening?
Second, GReddy chose to make this change to the kit because the T618z turbo is too small to flow the amount of air that the car needs in order to hold boost all the way to redline. My second question is should people with the GReddy turbo kit be using this? Would this cause Carbon buildup in the Auxiliary Ports over time?
Finally, how hard do you think it would be to tune the car if someone chooses not to install the blocking plate and to modify the wiring harness so that the APV opened?
