check engine light after changing exhaust system

Hello everybody,

My name is Oliver and I live in France. I have an RX8 since 2006 and I have just changed my whole exhaust system

I have :

Header Re Amemiya + xs power midpipe + xs power catback

But unfortunatly ever since I have changed these things my check engine light is ON . I tried to put a cell fix between the midpipe and the 02 sensor but my light is still ON.

I heard about "spark plug with non fouler"...what is the difference between a "Cell Fix" and these "spark plugs with non fouler" ?

Do you have any ideas on how i can fix this?

I hope I am in the right topic....So thanks a lot for a quick answer.

Oliv

^its a hit or miss as always, and unfortunately your CEL is there cus of your midpipe... so you essentially "missed" , some people get lucky and they "hit" it right, and they get no CEL

Just take the little light bulb out from behind the dash and your CEL will go away

Very smart!

Anyway dozer got it right, it is because of your midpipe.
You can either choose to ignore the light or buy a device that will (also) allow to "mask" it, turning it off.
It is called the AccessPORT and some research in this board will give you good results. Using the AccessPORT just to mask a CEL is a real limitation to this gizmo's tuning functions so you may want to give a deepr look at it

vendors on here sell them for about 700 dollars. Grant it I dont know about the euro version but it would be worth contacting them about it.

It is a very good tuning device, i would suggest that you buy it from www.mazdamaniac.com though. He is a very aknowledged tuner and has got first hand experience with european rx8s as well. He also includes his tuning service for free with the purchase and considering his skills that's a must for us european owners

I hope this helps!

or you can put a high flow catalytic converter back on, make the same power, and not pollute the environment
