Coatings, Hey Turbine-pwr

Coatings, Hey Turbine-pwr
There has been note of a possable coating on the ex ports of the ren. This may be true and it made me think of something. Turbine-pwr, you may know of my old professor of materials. I;ll tell you why. Dr. Jay Easwaren was the head of the materials institute at Western Mich U. He was my sons Professor also, (so he knows us Paul's) but point being the last time we talked he had a company that overhauled APU's in AZ.
He was a whiz with coatings (among other materials) and he coats the hot sections of his rebuilds. I'm betting that you know him or of him. The prof was so good with this stuff that once he invented a coating for cyd walls and pistons thatFord wanted to test. I had to machine the liners for him and then set the clearances after coating. I'm here to tell you that honing those sleeves after coating was no easy job.
Ford would have bought it but they insist on having it thick enough to bore once. He couldn't make it that thick. But Ford said it was the hardest Wall they ever saw.
On top of this he has a company in Indy that makes turbine blades for engines.
You must know of him, and his coatings. At least someone where you work does.
(Belive me if they met him they would remember, he is the stereotype nutso professor. All genius, a riot everywhere else.) If so you may also have opinion as to that high temp coating going into exhaust ports.
I'm going to try and find his E mail address, I had it at one time.
(why do I spend so much time thinking?)
