compressor surge with GReddy RS bov

compressor surge with GReddy RS bov
I have the GReddy turbo with Mazsport CAI and Greddy type RS bov. 5psi or lower and the bov whooshes fine. Anything above 5psi and I hear the infamous choo choo choo choo. Should I try adjusting the bov or is this due to my completely stock exhaust creating a huge restriction?
If I should adjust the bov, should I go harder or softer? GReddy tech support was no help, and 45 minutes of searching the forum got me no answer. Please help! I'd really like to keep the GReddy snail healthy til I can save up enough for Satan's Hairdryer!

i dont think you need to change the BOV settings, because i have the same sound too. i think it's characteristic of rotary when it has turbo. i believe, because BOV sound how it is supposed to be when you put little boost, and you shift it. i think it's fine

BOVs let out a steady flow of released air when the the throttle is let off. That's what the bov is for. If you getting the "choo choo choo choo" I would guess the bov needs to be adjusted. Could be wrong but that's the only thing I can think when putting reasoning for a bov to thought.

You should have the BOV at the loosest setting possible that still holds the boost without leaking.
Or you can upgrade to something like the synchronic that will not allow compressor surge to happen in the first place.

sounds like the valve is stuck and cant open fully to release the higher pressure (5 and over) ?
When i had my type RS, i had compressor surge at very very low boost. I never experience comp surge over 1 psi. I had to loosen up the preload spring to elimiate surge.

This is such a newb question, but how will I know when it's leaking? Right now I get 19"-20" Hg at idle.
How much should I adjust the allen screw at a time? 1/4 turn? half turn?
Jason, do you know if titan motorsports still offers the flange adapter for the synchronic? Since I already have the type RS flange welded on, obviously I'll need to change it somehow to fit the Synchronic.
