Couple Questions

Idk if these questions have been asked already but...

1. Which would you guys prefer as a performance gain. 50 shot of nitrous or a turbo kit? and when i say turbo i mean one that would increase about 50hp.

2. Does anyone have a nitrous set up where they are hiding their bottle? im kinda leaning towards the nitrous but dont know any good spots to put it. anybody?

3. What nitrous system is best for rx-8? And i heard a 50 shot would do just fine for stock unless you guys have a different opinion.

To sum this all up. I dont have 3 grand for a turbo kit so im looking for the best alternative that would give me good hp gain for my 8. If this is the next best alternative the next step is, where to hide the bottle. If nitrous is not a good idea, i guess i have no other choice but to wait save and get a turbo. so what do you guys think?

Search under Charles R. Hill (resident nitrous guru) & nitrous. There are a ton of threads on this.

Best bet is the Zex nitrous kit. Most people have used that kit for this car with a 55 shot. Usually uses a 10 lb. bottle, not exactly stealthy, but I'm sure if you really wanted an NOS cheater kit (1 lb. bottle), it can be done, just not sure how people have done it before. Most people just put the kit up against the back of the back seats in the trunk, as to save space so that most of the trunk is still usuable.

A nitrous kit is a good alternative to a turbo. It is an easy install & has shown to be pretty reliable. If you don't have at least $6K, don't even attempt a turbo install.

^^^ what fanman said.

One thing to add...

Speaking from experience, I can fart longer than a 1lb sneaker bottle will last you.
2 maybe 3 quarter mile runs tops and thats with a bottle heater.
Just thinking ... I don't know if you can or would want to put a bottle heater on a 1 lb bottle.... mmmm forget I said anything

I would do nitrous, $3k isn't going to get you a reliable turbo setup

PM Charles R Hill, he's a cool guy and can help you out. Plus he is a vendor and has the best pricing around on the ZEX stuff, as well as other products
