ok, lets examine our little Fail Boat here.
Vortech V3 $1,800
DNA Bracket 1,600
Belts & pulleys 700
engine management 600 (cobb& tune)
tubing and intercooler 500 assuming avg quality
total $5,200

lets assume a few more things in this scenerio. person putting this together is technical enough to handle custom piping, 5 to 6 lbs of boost is target. based on size of charger and CFM Oem fuel components will suffice. The question is what else is missing besides the normal headaches that come up in any custom fabrication. dont just flame the idea give your input and opinion based on experience or prior research.

Nope, putting in a kit designed for the rx8 brought enough unseen headaches that I am pretty sure designing my own is not something I'm willing to save $2000 on. I'd just eat at home for another 2 weeks and buy a real kit.

+1, almost done with my 'custom' kit. From my experience it would have been 6's, really I could have just shelled out the dough from the get go and been done a hell of a lot sooner, and probably wouldn't have so much hair loss from the stress.
