Out of curiosity I did a run this morning without the check valve on the jet air line (that connects pre turbo) .
I had always thought that no check valve here would cause a boost leak but my log seems to suggest that it made absolutely no difference at all .
Can't understand why boost did not bleed back into the intake (under vacuum ) . All I can think of is that air goes past the nozzles so fast it creates a low pressure area in front of the nozzle opening .

Kind of retarded to ask..
Can anybody link me to a tool that would be suitable for pressure testing the wastegate? On the factory GReddy I don't necessarily plan to run a boost controller until after the turbo is rebuilt, and want to adjust my wastegate tension accordingly.

Not sure if this was mentioned earlier in the thread and I don't want to look through 18pages but for fix #2 Brettus had mentioned to me about running a line and Tee'ing into the Jet Air line on the intake charge pipe just before the throttlebody, this will account for any losses throught the IC and what not... of coarse that shouldnt matter with an EBC but for those of use without one...

Right, sorry guys, but trying to read so much and it's tough to make out what threads are the main ones and which ones most useful (and upto date), so instead of starting any thread like a noob, I'll post my query here.
Does the latest Greddy Turbo kit still have to be upgraded for reliability or have they now rectified some of the known problems you guys have had over the years.
In the UK we're pretty stuffed here and pettit hasn't got any more SC's and looking at the Greddy kit from reworx and DCperformance, they obviously must order them in from the states. Currently they're £3111 inc VAT PLUS fitting BUT after reading all the threads it seems to me, it's not simply a bolt on kit and will require updates etc. Things like e-manage I've read here have now been superseded etc and people replacing hoses etc because of poor quality, amending piggyback system blah blah. I'm not looking for massive performance at all, something around 300-320+hp@flywheel... but what I don't want is to order the kit to be fitted and then have to spend a fortune replacing 75% of the kit.
The reason I ask is, I've done all my modding years ago on a Pug 205 and it basically split me and the wife up as I was constantly tinkering and fixing things. This time, I simply want a bolt on kit that will be reliable and NOT require loads of updates to it etc... is the Greddy suitable, or is this force induction just not a "bolt on and run" type thing yet? the SC from Pettit seemed the kind of conversion I was looking for. I don't need massive power but would like to be putting out over 300bhp@flywheel.
Please forgive me on this one, as I don't want the usual read this and that (although if someone has a link to later specs./updates, fine, I'll read every page if necessary), however, there's quite a few old threads and I'm not sure where we're now currently at with the latest "off the shelf" kits.

Far from bolt on with no tinkering
....and your 300-320 might be a bit high for a Greddy Kit....
And if you don't want to be constantly tinkering maybe think again.....
There is a lot of info. It would be a good idea to read everything you can find wit "turbo" in in on this forum before you start
