Does the regular emanage(not the CZ) have problems with burning Ign. Coils?
I did a search on this and I couldn't seem to find a clear answer, someone mentioned that greddy was upgrading the firmware, but I never saw it confirmed.
I'm trying to figure out if i get an emanage box (my friend has one I could buy for cheap) rather than the CZ, if I will have problems with my coils. I'm not sure what alterations CZ made to the emanage other than the switch and nice wiring harness. I'm also confused how CZ could fix the ignition problem with hardware upgrades if greddy would have to do it in the firmware.
Anyways, since the new greddy turbo comes with an emanage, which appears to be a popular item, I thought it would be good to clear this up.
Thanks

First off, you don't necessarily *have* to use the E-manage to control ignition timing. Out of the box, it just alters the airflow meter's signal. I believe this is enough to tune the engine to an equivalent state of the Canzoomer setup.
If you want to control ignition, you have to use the optional ignition harness. MazdaManiac (Jeff) figured the ignition control out to some extent - might want to dig through his old posts.
There are tons of options for the E-manage. The good thing is you can get the basic unit, then see what options you need or want to tailor it to your needs. The most basic setup is the E-manage itself and the support tool (the CD-ROM and cable to hook a laptop up).

The E-Manage in the Greddy turbo kit has an adapter box that contains the diodes necessary to filter the ignition outputs - similar to what Maurice did in his CZ box and I did in my implementation of the ignition harness.
It also includes the RX-8 specific RPM adapter whcih is now available.
FWIW - the E-Manage fries the coils on several different vehicles if the lines are not filtered.

No, that is just the RPM adapter. The filter adapter doesn't appear in their catalog, yet.
