Engine Management
Need some help selecting engine management. If price was not an issue would you choose the HKS F Con Pro tuned by a Pro dealer or the Interceptor-X also tuned on a dyno? The turbo setup is a GT30 with external wastegate mounted in the same location as the Greddy kit. Please post what you would do and why.

HKS F Con Pro. It's 32x32, allowing finer adjustments. Also, in having & seeing HKS Products in the past nothing but the finest quality & service. These guys know what they are doing. They have pretty much most experience of any company in the Japanese Aftermarket. I'm sure Mazsport unit is quite good as well. All things being equal, i would rather have the HKS.

Motec is too expensive, price is an issue when it comes to that amount.

MoTeC is by far the best choice but also the most expensive. If you are not experienced with tuning I will tell you what I have told all of my customers over the last 20+ years. Don't do it if you don't understand it or can't afford to pay someone that does. Programmable management systems are incredible tools and are capable of making the most of an engines capabilities.
The better systems will have advanced datalogging capabilities as well as built in Lambda so that you can see what the engine wants and is doing under any condition. The interpreter function in MoTeC is amazing in itself.
I have been lucky to have been taught by some of the best rotary engine tuners in the businness and they are always learning something new that benefits all of us. The most important thing I learned was patience. I am not a tuner although I have done my own tuning successfully by taking my time and working through every area step by step.
Sorry to ramble, make careful choices........
