is the esmeril kit's radiator not good enough? or is the one your getting that much better... and how much did it cost you =D

The Esmeril Racing RX-8 Turbo Kit doesn't include a radiator(cools engine coolant), it includes an intercooler(cools turbo air). He is replacing his stock radiator with a better unit. I think you are confusing the two.

This is in no way BHR's fault, just a random "one of those things."

There are two reasons why this doesn't bother me a lot:

A) Tomorrow its going to be a balmy 18 degrees here
B) I was the one that signed up as a beta tester for this radiator, so stuff happens when you get the first version of a new product.

Doesn't change the fact that my car is on jackstands in my garage, but what kind of traction would I have in 30 degree weather anyways ?

My friend is about to buy a RX8 today, I used to own one a 05 sold it was to slow for my taste and no solid kits out back then. But damn things sure are looking out pretty good any new on how this will do against a stock 2008 HR 350z? People are running 13.2-13.4 with the HR stock.

I told my friend this car is a joy to drive but he should not look into it if he wants just brute HP, plus he is getting a 8 with 20k on it for 16k loaded 05. BTW OP nice kit good luck, cant wait till I go FI.

Kind of disturbing, but when I drilled my oil feed plate to 5/8 to tap it in 3/8npt I drilled at a very slight angle. Anyways, when I went to tighten the fitting the thin decorative wall of the plate cracked. So I'm hoping I did a good enough job tapping it that it won't leak. In retrospect I should have drilled a 1/2 inch hole and just ground down the inside a little bit with a round file.

Seems pretty badass, repositionable for 4 hours, then after 72 hours it cures to 10,000 psi resistance. Resists diesel fuel, oil, moisture, hydraulic fluid, glycol, brake fluid, freon, transmission fluid... Good from -65 degrees to 400 degrees.

You don't understand how much I know exactly what you are saying.

What size was the origional hole in the adapter plate? What size is the gauge? I'm sure there is a fitting that will work somewhere.

Original holes in the plate are 1/8 npt, so thats a little over 1/4 an inch in diameter. Since I'm using the Racing Beat gauge kit, I have mechanicals, so the temp probe is huge. The racing beat came with 1/2 inch Npt adapters for thier sandwich plate, So i had to buy a 1/2 npt to 3/8 npt adapter just to get it on there at all. If I had known it was going to be that much of a pain in the *** I would have just tapped my racing beat plate to another 1/8npt and been done with it (or moved the temp sensor to the oil pan)

associated costs (with using the Racing Beat gauges with this system):

5/8 inch drill bit $17
1/2 inch drill $119
1/2npt to 3/8 npt gauge adapter (need this because of the way the sender seals) $11

= $147

$119 for the drill

OMG. That is extremely expensive. I would've sent you a drill before I let you spend that much if you would have told me. What is it, Carbide? I can get cobalt ones for like $20. It better last you at least 10 years......

Well, I could have borrowed my girlfriend's dad's drill but I felt that I should probably have this tool for stuff in the future.

So now I've got:

Cordless drill I use mainly for screwing things in
Cord Drill 3/8 that I use for wood drilling and high speed sanding/grinding with a flap wheel/drum
Cord Drill 1/2 - probably going to use the 8amp motor for my metal work.

I heart tools

Ohhh! I see. I though you meant that price for the drill bit! I have seen drill bits at that price made of tungsten carbide so I though that is what you meant....I seee. Excuse my ignorance.

I think you should make a video of a stock 8 against your turbo'ed 8. Just to show people how much of a gain your really making.

well thats even better. it will give a good comparison between a heavily modified 8 (10-11k in mods?) to a nearly stock rx8. If you could, i think this would be a great way to format the video, most street racing videos suck ***.

that would be cool, but we'd need 2 or 3 cameras and a straight bit of road with little or no chance of getting in trouble since there would be few people involved.
