Finished The Turbo Install Today. Couple Questons
Finally finished it today and took it for a spin... WOW what a difference. Anyway...Here is a pic of the engine. I have a plug, as you can see on the bottom right corner, that comes off the MAF wire harness that connected to some thing on the airbox. The question is what do i do with this plug?
also, does anyone know of a gauge mount that go on that little vent above the driver main ac/heat vent?
thanks

Are you running a boost controller or just at stock boost ?
Also : you would be better with a catch can on your crankcase vent .Unless you actually want your turbo to be caked with oily goo of course ....

its stock for now. I am running the emanage ultimate and it is boosting smoothly, it just stalls sometimes while coasting. Will fix #2 solve the stalling? Its idling fine and runs pretty good so far. Its wet out today so I will let you all know how it is later on. Why do you ask if i have a boost controller?

With that BOV (IE closed at idle & vented to atmosphere)you need to be careful how you set up your boost controller .
BTW I would suggest you don't get a boost controller until you get better engine management .

^LOL, true story
Also, make sure you have a check valve in your Jet Air hose, it doesn't look like you do.
And yes, put in an oil catch can do your turbo doesn't ingest oil
And you really need to re-plumb your w/g signal (fix #2)

Where did you plumb the jet air line to ? If jet air is the line next to the one from the oil filler neck then that could be your problem - no check valve .However i think that is the omp line and you have jet air just before the throttle body . Is that how you have it ?
If not jet air it could be a vac leak somewhere else .

Here is a more detailed picture, sorry the quality is so poor I took it with my phone.
The check valve is on that the line all the way to the right, it goes to that sensor that connects to the emanage. The line going to the left goes to the waste gate. Let me know what i did wrong

heres another one. The blue line in the picture has the check valve and the orphis(sp?) fitting in it. As I was taking the picture I noticed the one with the check valve blew off! I guess thats why it wasn't idling. I am going to clamp all these vacuum hoses down now. If I loosen the BOV, will the lines not blow off as easy?
thanks

You need to do Greddy fix#2 to stop blowing all your lines off . You will be seeing 20psi+ at part throttle (before the throttle plate) unless you hook your wastegate actuator to the turbo outlet .
Hope that is not a check valve going to emanage - should be a filter if anything....
Do you know where your jet air line is going ?

If you must have one - and only want to raise the boost a few psi one of those manual ones may actually be a safer option .
Have a read of this thread https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-major-horsepower-upgrades-93/getting-most-out-your-greddy-turbo-without-breaking-bank-172542/

The jet air is one of the three lines that was going to the accordian on the stock setup .
I can only see two of those in your pics -can't see where the other goes .

Why do you need one ? Don't see how you got that idea . Boost controllers are the devil if you are not 100% familiar with your setup your tune and how everything works - just my opinion

if I was you I would do fix # 2 then just adjust up the rod on the wastegate actuator to as short as possible . That should give you 6-7psi without a boost controller which is where you should leave it until you become more familiar with tuning etc .
So NO - don't get a boost controller
So NO - don't get a boost controller
