Sounds good but only 20,000 kms (12427 miles) of testing is not enough for me. I'd wait for Mazda and let everyone else jump in.

Do not tell these yanks anything about turbo charging...they think it is impossible for the Renesis to be turboed safely...by the way have a look at the main housing 13B is on the engine block...!

Keep the prawns to ourselves too.....We know who are the prawns or wOrms. ..9100RPM

Maybe I'm missing something, but is it really supposed to only be 189RWHP AFTER the turbo? Whoop de freakin do.

MM nice 10 horsepower or less increase.

Please say it's supposed to be a joke.

That would at least be somewhat better, but for 6K US I'd expect like 275, maybe thats unrealistic. But he does use the term RWHP, so...............

Hell I might as well buy a canzooner and the most expensive laptop on the market just to tune it, it'll still be cheaper and I can get double the HP increase.

The most expensive laptop on the market is not going to mean jack unless the person doing the tuning knows what they're doing.

Everyone seems to forget that the most important thing is not just HP, but also torque and the power delivery of the new found power.

you do know that 13b stands only for the displacement size of the engine, right? and that the port configuration of the 13b-msp renesis is different than the 13b-rew of the last generation of the rx-7, right? so why do you keep going on about what's stamped on the housing?

you can keep the prawns, i like shrimp :D

C'mon man, the dyno shows 189whp, that's less than the RX-8 should be making in stock form. You can't seriously find that impressive for the tune of 6,000 usd. Unless that dyno reads very very very low or the hp is actually ps, I don't see anything to get excited about.

Actually the dynos in australia tend to read 15% less than dynojets and 8-10% less than mustang dynos. Not a big difference in this case, but still a difference.

a. dont look at the number! you know that IKE! look at the percentge increase from the stock dyno and where in the power band that increase is. in this case it looks to be about 40whp from 3k to redline. thats damn good.

b. you dont know the type of dyno used. ive seen numbers from 16x whp to 190 whp from various types of dynos in the states.

...and this turbo kit is tuned for torque delivery, not peak power.

only owners that dont frequent this forum. if people had been paying attention they would know that many FI options will be available in the coming year.

I might have taken offence to this but I see from your other posts that your ignorance is legendary.

If we forget about dynoing for just one second and look at a couple of facts;
1) The renesis has always had problems on the dyno, people are claiming figures all over the place for what they have, or a mate has, or your sisters pimp has dynoed their car as.
2) Too many people assume that engine horse power is comparable to rwhp, it's not.
3) The ignorant believe that peak hp is everything, it's not.

Anyone who has driven an RX-8 hard knows that if you want any decent performnce you need to keep it dancing above 7000k. For me I have found this on track days and on the road, how many times have you gone to over take someone and shifted down a gear hit 5000k only to find really you should have shifted it down 2 gears and ridden the top 2500 revs because there is a distinct lack of anything serious happening.

We for me that has always been my greatest criticism of the RX-8, the lack of straight line speed. As a package it is fantastic and I love it, however I want more get up and go from the entire engine.

This is where the turbo came in, if you read my post you will see that I went for a test drive in the vehicle, I did not tune, I do not have it installed on my car (yet) and I did not produce the dyno graph. However what I can tell you is that the stage one turbo running 6psi boost kicking in at 2500 made a massive difference to performance.
We were travelling at 3000 revs and the foot was put down and I was pushed back in my seat. Try that in any RX-8 that anyone has that does not have FI and what happens......I'll tell you sweet FA.

I travelled in this car, I saw and felt this performance increase, regardless what your "expert" opinion reads of my post. I do not give a frogs fat ring if you think the gains are worth it or not, I do not care what it says on paper, what I do car about is real life improvement, and that is exactly what I got.

I did not just see a little improvement, I saw a great improvement. So much so that I believe it is worth Aus$8,000.

How many times have people on this forum posted stuff like;
- I spent $1000 on a lightened fly wheel and got a 4HP improvement,
- I spent $1200 on an exhaust and got a 6 HP improvement

I have tried that, I got the exhaust, I got the piggy back ECU and I thought I had gains, hell the extra noise from the exhaust sounded faster, however once on the track against other RX-8's in a straight line my car was really no faster at all. That is why I am sick and tired of all these self proclaimed experts saying do this and you get and extra 20hp, do that and get an extra 10HP, you base your vast knowledge on paper and figures, so if someone can post a dyno sheet saying that an improvement was gained then hell I had better believe it.

In reality I have always wanted real world gains, not something that can be reproduced or was produced on Aviation Fuel in a wind tunnel.

This is what I found in the car I drove, not some bull crap that gives subjective gains or gains that can only be measured on paper, it was a push you back in you seat, available at almost all revs gain.

You can take your, but that is only standard HP figures, you can take your I'm not spending that for 10HP gains and any other vomited wisdom that you have. I am not asking you to spend your money, I wasn't asking you whether you feel the on paper gains are significant. I am telling you of a drive I had, I am telling you that I saw the way the RX-8 should have always performed from the word go and I am telling you for me it is worth spending the money to buy this turbo kit because the improvements are real and significant.

Everyone has their own opinion, however until you actually have facts and experience to back up what your opinion is, then that is what it will always remain an opinion, nothing more. However when you push your "opinion" on someone who has experienced otherwise then you just become ignorant.

I hope you are not ignorant, just mis-informed.

PS is almost identical to HP. 189 PS = 186.41 HP If you meant Kilowatts that would be a different story.
