First issue after installing Esmeril Kit

I had Okada Coils on the car when the kit was installed. I never even thought about the dwell settings till i relized they were fried. I put the stock coils back on the car. And this time i tried it with the new INT-x and stock coils. Both INT-Xs were on the Esmeril basemap. I was told by Chris that its a conservitive dwell setting that should work with stock. I have not actually checked myself.
What should the stock dwell be set at. All of my dwell searching has been on dwell for upgraded coils which i will do shortly if i get this running.

Phish806 Just a thought but you checked spark and you said spark was good. What about fuel pump??? Are your running stock or an upgraded pump? If it's upgraded did you have to rewire or was everything a plug and play? Same thing with the injectors did you have to rewire?? You said it blew the resistor to the pump relay right?
I'm guessing it's fuel related...try putting fuel in the intake and try starting if it tries and dies then you know your checking your fuel side..if not continue with the spark side. But anyways if I remember right...factory dwell on the coils is 3ms and I think I pushed my factory coils to 6ms but they didn't last long there.

The resister that was burning was inside the old INT-x ... i believe it had issues thats why it was replaced. The fuel pump is acting correctly and we even used jumpers to make sure it was on full when we were troubleshooting earlier before the int x. also if you take a plug aout you can see its getting fuel. been deflooding it as we go just to make sure that its not a flood issue that it will not start.
Yes the pump and hte secondaries were upgraded. all plug and play. once again , it will start rather difficultly off the stock ecu but will hold idle fine. No start witht he int -x
went out and checked the dewll settings on the int x. The esemeril map had it set at 2.28 i belive it was. upped it to 3 and gave it a try and still nothing.

Ya it's supposed to be plugged in, just making sure you didn't remove it. It will keep your fuel pump at high speed all the time.
So when you remove the int-x the car runs with the stock ECU, but it doesn't run with the Int-X, correct?
See how you have your injector impedance setup. My friend had this issue with his Haltech, it was setup to the wrong impedance and he was flooding his motor.

Yeah i have checked the fuel pump resistor and its plugged in. I even checked it with a meter and its good. Thats why i was a little confused when you asked if i removed it. lol. I have checked the impedence of the injectors already. Supposed to be on positive right. also, it ran fine for those two days and instantly did this. This is why i am thinking its something mechanical related and not the tuning. the tuning was never touched in those fist two days i drove this cuz i was waiting on my tuner.

Thats what i thought. But it starts extremely hard with the stock ECU and if you touch the gas with it at idle it will not return to idle wihtout dieing. Odd situation. However, i believed it was the INT-X also. Thats why i bought the new one and installed it. Same thing has happend and i have tried the esmeril set of maps along with the INT - X set of maps. I double checked and the both the settings for the injector polarity are set to positve. This correct for stock coils?

I plan on goin onver a few things when i get off work but its all things that i have checked really. Its hard for me to think its something mechanical when it starts off the stock ecu but nto the int x , along with it running fine for a could days then this. However i will give the fuel pump a go tonight and see what it testes at. But i can hear it kicking on and flipping to the high setting also when we jump it.

Another thing that is kinda odd is this.
The battery was relocated to the trunk. The neg. goes to a bold that fastens the suspension. The positive cable runs to the engine bay and bolts to the connector that usually attaches to the battery. ( the one wiht the 60amp fuse built in). Well obviously after all of this cranking over the motor and working on the car the battery is dead so I hooked a battery charger to it. I hooked the ground to a ground on the car and the positive of the charger where we bolted the cable from the battery in the trunk to the factory positive under hte hood. With the key turned forward ( i was looking at the maps on the INT-X) i heard something under the hood. Under further inspection i noticed that my coils were firing and the car was not running or tryign to start. Key jsut turned forward.
I unhooked the charger and moved it to the trunk on the actual battery terminals. I could not replicate the coils firing when the charger was hooked directly to the battery.

Hmmmm
I have a similar battery relocation with an identical power supply under the hood, but I've never attached a battery charger to the terminals, I always do it at the battery.
You could have fried something and then popped a fuse? Worth a check
Or worse you fried some kind of wiring when it happened.....

Wiring seems to be ok from what we have tested and seeing that it will start off the stock ecu. I have checked the 60 amp fuse at the power connection and it was ok. Where did you connect your ground to that came off of the battery when it was in the stock location?

Well i checked out grounds last night and everything looked good. I hooked a battery up in the stock location to the stock terminals and i still got nothing. I am going to say that the battery relocation is not the issue along wiht the grounding.

I connected it the same way you did, I put a terminal on my power cable that runs to the trunk and bolted it to the OEM battery terminal, then wrapped in all up to make sure it wouldn't short anything, and finally tucked the harness under the front brace.
So you did have the engine running with the Int-X for two days then all a sudden nothing? And no you made no changes you can think of to the Int-X or mechanical inbetween that? You have to have something hooked up wrong....

correct... i installed the kit and and the INT-X. First try it fired up perfectly jsut like stock. I was a bit suprised. took it out for the first test run and no issues. Drove it home that night about 30 min. everything went well. Took it out to a small cruise in thing we had in des moines and out to eat with a group of friends then home. no issues... then the third day i used it to take home a friend and on the way home it jsut happend in an instant. Flashing CEL and it studdering and missing. Nothing was changed inside the INT-X from the first start (now i have a new INT-X on the car since then) and nothing mechanical was changed since the first start. So something had to happen on that last drive home that caused this issue.
I plan on hitting it with some starting fluid and seeing if it fires over for a second or two. Try to figure out if its a fuel issue or spark issue. just start all over on the diagnosis.
As far as not having things hooked up correctly, there are three major things that you install with the esmeril kit. 1. fuel pump 2. fuel injectors 3. INT-X. everything else is nothing major. The turbo system but its basically an exhaust system as far as starting the car is concerned. So i am assuming it has to be one of these three things. The INT-X was replaced so now i am going to assume that its not the issue. That leaves fuel pump and injectors to do some testing on. .... any other ideas.
