Cretinx,

Good idea on bigger tires, but my interest it's on a bigger diferential this would help
to lower 1/4 times.

rotorpr,

The local racing beat it's in Bayamon "mecanica el psiquiatra"
they have a dyno and all the runs are in their computer.....
I mention that all the 1/4 miles I do it with a gtech
Yes, he has the racing beat cat back on stock........
I have the borla because it's was the first on the market.
I live on Manati if you wan't to see the car and get a ride
on the car just send me and email

philodox,

Thank you for your comment, I asked my mechanic about the spark plugs
and he say's it's depend on the use of your car but
he recommend to check them every 4 months and at least clean them.
I really don't use the car every day.........
This sparks really help to prevent detonation, using the factory one's
with the greddy kit it's to risk for the engine.

philodox,
I read your thread's and I know that you already have some information on the emanage
password but I don't find it............please let me know.........my tuner it's ready
to put the hans on it. If he can improve HP I would post on the forum.

thanks to every one,

Manuel

Quentix,

the hi flow cat it's from random technologies........you can search the web to find some
dealers that sale their products. I buy it from Canzomer.

Well, if you look at his AFR, it's teetering around 13.5 which by all rights should detonate like a ****.. that's where the extra cool spark plugs come into play.. you can run a bit leaner without worrying about detonation.

When the car it's hot we get some 12.4 AFR, when the car is more cool we see higher AFR.
I think that the computer knows that and recompensate the AFR.

Before changing the sparks we make a couple of pass with the factory sparks and the car makes 268-270 HP in 4 gear.
The 10.5 sparks are not giving us higher HP, it's to prevent detonations.

We finish our installation two weeks ago.
My mechanic tell me that run the car for at least 400 miles
before a dyno run............................

We put the car on the dyno yesterday. The car makes 273HP in 4th gear and near 260HP on 3rd gear. (on the attached dyno we have 2 runs one in 3th and 4th gear)

I make a few 1/4 mile run's with my g-tech and the best times are between
13.90 - 14.20 sec.
Right now my big problem it's traction in first gear the car it's lo loose
and you waste time before the car has good traction.

Next step is to install a boost controller...........we need to have constant
7 psi boost. Between runs on the dyno we note that at full throttle the car don't
Maintain the 7 psi.

The car has the Greddy kit but also has pulleys, ACT clutch, Flywheel, Hi flow Cat, resonator, 10.5 spark plugs and other modifications.
I'm happy because I was expecting near 240 HP, when I buy the car the first dyno was 175 HP.

I agree with others that this is another car........

My tuner removes the front sticker of the emanage and manually set the last to
screws and we get 4 HP more and the car it's running richer......
To tune this emanage manually it's not easy, it's easier with a computer.........

NOW WE NEED THE PASSWORD FOR THE EMANAGE!

If some one have the password and can give it to me
I really appreciate it...........

The tuner it's and expert working with the Greddy emanage on other
cars and it's ready to make some changes to see if we can make more HP.

If any one has questions, please let me know...............

and again, sorry for any syntax errors!

Manuel
Manuel,

That is great!

I heard rumors about a couple of turbo RX8 in PR, but that was about it.

Give them a call (Mecanica el Psiquiatra) and talk to Eggie. Their phone number is 787-780-6398, and Galdy's phone number (Eggie's first son, and the dyno tuner) is 787-787-7876; they are good and reliable people.

Yeah--when I was down there I saw like 3 RX8s for every 350Z. Probably more that I missed cause I was too busy breakin my neck to look at the women.

Is that why the "long lost son" of ******* Focker on Meet the Fockers was working on a nice red FC? Anyone notice that in the movie? I think his mom was Puerto Rican too.

...ok, back to topic :D

OK guys

On the next step we're goin to install a boost controller and remove the high flow cat and the resonator..........we're goin to use a straight pipe connected to the borla cat back.....

The big problem to generate big HP gains using the emanage that came with the greddy kit it's that we can't control ignition timing................... but we need to continue our work
with this limitation. Probably in the future greddy can provide that for the RX8.
Of course that we're open to use other type of computers........

Here is food for thought for you people who want to post 1/4 mile times

THE RX8 DOES MID TO HIGH FOURTEENS SO ANY 1/4 TIMES LESS THAN 14SECS WILL BE CONSIDERED REASONABLE ANY OVER 14 OR IN THE 14SEC RANGE WILL BE CONSIDERED FULL OF COW SH..

good results! I wouldn't have thought GReddy left that much more power (tuning) in the kit...I was sure Philodox had an exhaust too - a 30hp difference though? wow!

We have no idea what his car 'pulls'.
e/t's are a function of driver anyway, not of the car. Those were GTech runs, btw. They are invalid except if he had done before/after comparisons.

Those A/F's are really lean and would not do that on a daily basis. Even with colder plugs its not going to help.

Just to bring light to the subject. Yesterday I met RX8PR in Manati, PR. I went with my car RX8 2005 6M stock and RX8PR brought his car (Greedy Turbo, pulleys, clutch ........ and a lot of other stuff everybody should know by now). I drove the car and it is amazing the difference, the quick response of the car on the low gears seems like another car, specially when I went back home in my stock RX8. The issue with the ET on the 1/4 mile, really is related to traction and not to power believe me. Currently he got 19 inches wheels and the tires cannot handle the power. He will be working on the traction issue, currently he is on bussines travel but he should be back next week. RX8PR, THANKS A LOT FOR THE RIDE AND THE EXPERIENCE.
