I'd really like to see a straight on picture of the new primary port rather than an angle or runner shot. The shape looks a little strange to me. I know much of this is how it came from the factory but I'd still like to see a better shot of where all of the port edges are. I personally might still revise it a little. I also do the epoxy in the back of the port. I don't only do it at the top though but that is where most of it goes. A clearer picture of the new end housings would be good too. Zoom in on a direct shot of the exhaust port.
I don't think I'd do any more to the secondary or auxillary ports. Just backcutting the short turn radius but that's about it. Maybe a little epoxy work too. Most of the intake enlargening should be done to the primary port anyways and it can't get all that big. It doesn't have to with small intake runners anyways.

i'll get you some better pics tomorrow.
i was thinking about the epoxy on the secondary ports, but decided against it. a while back we were talking about aiming the exit of the ports and since the primaries pretty much shoot up parallel to the runner, it leaves the secondaries not a whole lot of options on where to go...so i left it pointing where it did stock-just radiused the closing edge.
i agree, the primaries are wierd looking! the best i can figure on that is they wanted more advance on the port timing, but didn't want to leave the corner/side seal unsupported for too long---uhhh, maybe, but i'm not sure.
as for the epoxy in the back--not sure exactly where you're talking about, but if you mean the "bottom", i went ahead and pulled that edge down. if you're talking about something else, can you point it out so i get a better idea?
guess it's a good thing the parts didn't come in today in case we revise them one last time.
everyone--especially rg, thanks for all the help and support through this!!
see y'all in the morning

I (heart) that avatar..
So just as an informal question, is anyone else interested to see how much can be freed up post-port by an aftermarket exhaust/cat||midpipe? My guess is because the first bottleneck can get cleared up that the other ones should shine more.. does snooch still have stock exhaust on?

That's the idea we all want to think. I have stock right now but I do plan on purchasing the racing beat exhaust and a hi-flow cat and other stuff. And I will dyno after every modification so everyone knows the results. Just this port isn't the end of my pursuit of speed.

yup yup...
i still don't think we're gonna get that bolt-on 58 rwhp from an exhaust like with the fc's, but i'm hoping for a LOT more than just 8-10 after the porting.
the side exhaust is still restrictive-even after the porting. it's just less so now. so with reducing that hinderance, the next one inline is the manifold, then the cat, and finally the muffler. but each should make a more significant improvement now.

the motor should be together tonight (assuming ups brings the goodies) and with any luck, in the car tomorrow.
saturday and sunday i have to work for jasper for the d1 thing. our supra is tied for first place with alex pfeifer!!!! WOOOHOOOO. actually, i'm not really into drifting, but i'm big into team spirit--since i'm a part of that team, WOOOOHOOOO.
so i will do my very best to make the car run by monday or tuesday of next week. dyno will hopefully be either the weekend (if we can get enough miles on it), or the week after.
my goal is to get definative results no later than 3 weeks from now. but it will more than likely be closer to 2 weeks.

oh yea... 550rwhp 13b RE cosmo motor project in the background. :D
unfortunately, that pj has been put on hold due to lack of funding.
engine stand or no, i honestly prefer to put the motors together on a 5 gallon bucket.
