Aight well since no one else is posting, Dave are you busy 2marow morning? I have to be at LAX at 6:30 but I'm free all before then. We can look it over and maybe shoot some vids. Maybe even go pick up that straight pipe??

It's really good. I notice the idling issue but that'll be cleare up with the new o-ring. Overall it just revs a lot easier. I don't notice myself pulling it as much as I do sometimes.

Guitar, I am still interested as well, but am trying to prioritise all the different things I want to do both with my car and having just moved into a new place. I need to sort out the stock suspension first and get it back to where my last one was!

i wanna do the big exhaust ports with the welding, get rid of the sleeves and either omit them totally, or re-machine a set for the front and rear irons, bridgeport the aux. ports, and see what that does.
i bet 25-30whp with no tuning.
parts were cheap..
$365 for the o-rings and gaskets, $350 for a good clutch set. add oil, coolant, and plugs. even if you get new side seals you're still under $1000 for parts
most of the cost will be labor as soon as i get this rolling.

Under $1000 for parts....damn that's tempting. I'd still be a little concerned about something screwy popping up with the ECU. Plus I'd have to rent a car for a few days. Not to mention I'd have to search all over and find someone in Houston to do the porting.

bridgeport probably wouldn't do anything for drivability, but it may or may not jack up the idle.
it'd probably be lopey with a random miss, but not the typical "brap brap brap" we all know and love. don't plan on passing emissions with it.

If I'm not mistaken, Texans (like Floridians) don't have that concern. I know all sports car owners in Florida love that...
Just curious...
Why bridgeport the aux only?
Didn't you take the exhaust out to just about welding time on your two previous ones?
As RG pointed out, bigger isn't always better... do you really NEED the exhaust any bigger?
What about doing the sleeves on a streetport?

1) because the ports are pushed so close to the rotor housings, in order to bridge them, you'd need about 90% of the port in the rotor housing itself and it would just flow like ***. the aux ports are the only ones we have enough room with.
2) the sleeve was left in both of these engines. only one was welded
3) yes
4) same thing

Bridgeporting the auxports wouldnt affect driveability in the slightest as they arent even open until 6250 or 6750 RPM (i can never remember the exact number) so normal driving, you wouldn't see too much of a difference, but when you got on the gas and revved it up high, you could see a substantial increase in power.
As far as removing the sleeves goes, wouldn't you need new headers as well?
