I got it, and you don't get much more Southern than good ol' South Carolina even if you move that direction geographically. We were the first state to withdraw from the Union .

Its all good. floridians are unusual especially ones who've lived in tallahassee there whole life. I just wish that there were the kind of people you guys are around here. I have to try hard to find someone to talk serious car stuff with and when you do their stuck up. There is an abundance of college idiots here. However with the idiots come the awesome girls so i guess its a trade off. Anyway i guess ill have to learn to do it myself like evrything else ive done on my cars!

thats very true from my expeirience so far. theres almost too much to keep up with! I meant the porting aspect is what ill have to experiment with, I kind of want to anyway. Guitarjunkie, will you be selling templates or anything at some point?

i do have some templates made, but since most of the work is in the runners, i don't know exactly how well they'd work. also, i can draw out a line with the template, but you won't know where to cut the line straight down, and when to start the radius.
i probably will eventually start selling them, BUT they're going to come with full instructions, color pictures, etc... they're not going to be very cheap. i wish i could just scribe a line like racing beat does, but it's just not that easy with this motor.

I have some expeirience on rotaries and am fairly handy with tools. I have done some machine work also. my problem will be judging the shape not the actual porting itself or even the runners. All I know is you can really screw up the housings if you aren't carefull(read ignorant).
I have heard the phrase "port timing". That is changed with the width of the port correct?

in the earlier motors, that's how you increase port timing, but with the renesis, you really don't have any room to go wider without having the side/corner seal junction unsupported-which has become a no-no...at least along the port closing edge.
making the exhaust port longer will open the port early.

hopefully this will bring the motor well into the 180's (whp)...maybe even high 180's.
that'd be a 13-17% power increase before we even touch the ecu...

It would be to hook up these equal length headers to your ported engine!

Dave, not to hijack your thread but I thought I'd post some pictures of my Turbo II engine exhaust sleeves. These are the constant area sleeves I told you about. I am working on a new set right now for the 13B's and Renesis sleeves will be in the future. These were inspired by a phone conversation that I had with Paul Yaw about 5 or 6 years ago. The pictures aren't the greatest but you can see what was done.

RG and Dave... do you think that you'll be able to get close to the GReddy kit levels of power out of the Renesis with a good port, new exhaust sleeves, a header (and the rest of the exhaust system) and a good tuning? Just curious what you think the NA potential of this engine is... I prefer NA and I know there are other people whom would rather stay NA is possible...
