Your MAF reading might not have anything to do with low compression but hard starting, rough idle, etc are.

Go look at the GReddy Fix Thread (stickied in this sub-forum) and fix #2 is what we're talking about in regards to the wastegate signal source. I don't know how else to better explain it.....

that is ok then all that is done.

Bit confused as to what could be wrong then.

Before i turbo'd the car, i had not one running issue. warm and cold starts were absolutely grand. now i have to step on the throttle a bit to get it to start. Very annoying.

would the BOV being non recirculated have anything to do with this.

Also before my accessport through up p0336 and i reset the ecu it was grand then i got the code P0335 which keeps flagging up, could anything have damaged the crank sensor etc

if the BOV is leaking at idle it could be causing your issue but the way you had it hooked up before i doubt that it was even working ....

You may well have bumped the crank angle sensor on installation - have you had a good look at it ?

another small update:

Went out and put greddy air intake on this morning, just as bad, alot of smoking from exhaust.

Spark plugs are black again after about 20 miles, Could this be to do with the coil packs, as i know Charles had mentioned problems with the bhr ones before

Take your maf tube off and measure the diameter and trace it onto the screen mesh material. Then cut-out the screen in a slightly larger diameter than your tube so you can wrap it.

I used a hot glue gun and just "tacked" the screen tight across the opening diameter of the MAF pipe. This helped keep the screen tight (so it doesn't bow or fold) and kept it in place. I then slid the coupler over it and tightened down with a hose clamp to keep the screen securely in place. I tried skipping the hot glue method but it was hard to keep the screen in it's proper place while getting the coupler over it, and the screen would get twisted.

Make sure you cut enough screen material out so you can get a good wrap around the pipe and the screen will stay in place- you really don't want it getting sucked into your motor (although at higher rpm your turbo compressor would just eat it and turn into dust, but it could damage your compressor wheel).

Just make sure you use a higher temp hot glue (or you just use some super glue) and use it sparingly. Also don't get the glue too close to the opening of the pipe or normal engine bay temps can get hot enough to return the glue to a liquid state and it could potentially leak into your intake. A small amount is nothing to worry about but I imagine a significant amount of glue could do some damage.
Thanks for the info. Ill make that my project this coming week.

If your maf readings are still all over the place with the greddy intake on there is a good reason for that .
When I was trying to trace a boost leak i had a lot of success with shoving a vacuum cleaner (on blow) into the intake . I put rags around the pipe to seal it off with the intake then went around the whole intake system with a spray bottle with detergent in it . Worked a treat .
