It was due to water freezing in the catchcan entrance tube since it was hooked up incorrectly.
He posted his problem here.
The fix is here.

so the catch can doesn't solve the oil coming from the BOV? So do I need a catch can?

You don't really NEED a catchcan. It's just a safety measure.
If you hook it up wrong and the temperature outside drops to below freezing, the water can freeze inside the hose and then you'll experience what philo did.

Also, you can get one from thew at rx8garage.net for $100. Get the 9mm hose, the 15mm hose is too big , although you can get it to fit.

I do not know. With a catchcan, oil shouldn't be able to reach the intake/ intake pipe.

Yea but you have to get the 9mm hoses they are the right ones .... I also figured out why my CEL blinks under boost .... It is said to be b/c the mazda CPU is trying to override the greddy CPU but it cant so it thinks there is something major wrong but its not and it cant over ride the piggy back system .... THey said not to worry about it ....

Shane, I am beginning to wonder if you have a new problem because you had to mess with the exhaust lately; have you checked to see that your exhaust system is/was not leaking? I am thinking that with the boost issues you had and the problem you now mention that the turbo, where it mounts on the manifold, may be leaking.

Just a thought.

is there anyone out there running a hi flow cat with the greddy turbo, successfully?
mine was basically "undriveable" until i put my stock cat back on.
is there a different map you can use that will help the turbo run better with the hi flow cat?

Current opinion seems to be that a high flow cat is not compatible with the default greddy map. You have to tune the map and that requires an unlocked version and tuning knowledge.
