Anyone using greddy kit with high flow cat? Need your experiences! Could it be made to work properly using a 3" cat?

i am using it now, but i will upgrade it with the resonated midpipe. i don't know, it's good, but i have a problem with increasing the boost. it stays 7psi, even if we increase the boost %, it's still on 7psi, and my mechanic said that i need to chang ethe midpipe, but it will be louder. that's all

Turbo runs out of breath at high RPM; so you will likely never see much more boost at high RPM wit the TD06.

i doubt it. I'm running a 2.5" b&b midpipe and 2.5" hks legamax exhaust system. I still made over 300 whp on it.

but before 7k rpm he should be able to go over 10 psi if he wanted.

I'm putting together my greddy kit, and debating on buying a RX7store midpipe from my roommate. My only concern is noise, and smell. I've had midpipes on previous cars I've owned, just not on my 8. Currently I have the HKS legamax and stock cat. The sound is perfect.

My roommate has the RX7store midpipe and legamax exhaust and it's loud as *****. When I ran a midpipe on my TSi, I'd come home with a slight buzz from the noxious gases. And I've heard bad things about RP's highflow cat in terms of plugging up.

I was thinking about cutting his pipe and welding in a highflow cat.

All kits should be the same right? A kit bought in Canada should work on my 8 here in the states? Double checking before I blow a life's savings..lol

We just finished installed the Greddy Kit on a 2007 RX8. After starting it up and letting it run it seems to be burning quite a bit of oil. There is oil in the intake piping. We don't have an catch can installed yet. The exhaust burns blueish smoke.

My questions are:
What could be causing the blue smoke?
What would be the steps to fixing the issue?

The oil readings are normal. We used Royal Purple 15w30.

Anyone have any suggestions? We are going to install the oil restriction fitting to see if that helps.

You didn't have the oil restrictor in the first place?

No. Wasn't one with the kit. I read this thread and realized we should install one.

Well, the oil restrictor is in place. However the engine seems like it is running on one rotor now. Last night the car was running fine (except for the excessive oil burning) Now we have no spark to the rear rotor. We have swapped coil packs thinking that may be the issue, but the rear rotor still will not get spark. The plugs appear to be fouled (gas/oil), but swapping the plugs from front/rear still doesn't get us anywhere.

On a side note, we removed the charge pipe from the throttle body and there was a pool of oil sitting in the pipe. And when I say pool, I mean a couple table spoons of oil. Is that normal if the oil restrictor is NOT installed? (Car hasn't ran WITH the oil restrictor in place)

The only thing we did tonight from last night was install the oil restrictor and install a Greddy Electronic Boost gauge. The gauge was tapped into the power wire near the Emanage harness. The 15amp ENG fuse blew after we installed the gauge. We removed the boost gauge and replaced the fuse, but it didn't change anything.

We are about ready to drop it off at the dealership to see if they can get spark.

Any suggestions now?

It will help, but ultimately the turbo will die.

I don't have the oil restrictor either and I just hit 25,000km (15,000 miles) on my turbo kit.

Still runs strong with no smoke.

The car is a 2007 with 1,900 total miles on it. We will be doing a compression test tonight and are trying to replace the spark plugs (no auto parts store around has them yet) Anything else to check? Reasons why we wouldn't be getting spark to the plugs? This is a customer's car and he is wanting to pick it up w/in the next day or two. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could there be a problem with the harness that is causing the plugs not to fire. This shouldn't have any affect on the oil in the intake but...

...........tapped into the power wire near the Emanage harness. The 15amp ENG fuse blew after we installed the gauge. We removed the boost gaug.........

Sounds like there was more damage than just the fuse.

First step is to look for another blown fuse, that one provides power to the ECU, along with several others - step two you may not like.......
