More or less, though the old e-manage did "fail", it just doesn't offer as much control as the EMU.
You could tune the blue e-manage to do much of what the EMU does, but you would be operating at the limit with only 7 to 9 PSI because of the relative lack of individual injector control.
Most of what failed on the blue e-manage was GReddy and the lack of knowledge on the part of those that attempted to tune it.

BTW i have already installed on my car and work like factory car specialy in idles with a/c.
the E 11v2 is by far my #1 choice if I were to go ALL OUT $$$$. MM hit the nail on the head on mazport int-x. I heard of the cobb on this forum but have limited info..... I'm still pondering on what direction I will go for my management.

Sorry dave, I couldn't resist!

The Microtech is sold as a P-n-P by MazSport as the Int-X.

Haltech is/was the state of the art for a long time.
I haven't looked at this unit since it first went into development, but it is likely a better solution than the Microtech since it has more granularity in the software and more configuration options.
He He!!!

Just Dynoed it yesterday ,Sunshine ,and I was Shy off the mark ,only by a few ponies !!!

Yeah, I can't wait to see the parts for that!

450 RWHP is at least 480 at the crank.
Even if it is only 470 at the crank, that is still 54 lbs of air (about 735 CFM at STP) and would require 3000cc of fuel (the OEM setup is about 2150cc). That would mean 820cc injectors in the P2 or 600cc in the secondary AND primary 2.
The only turbo I can think of that will make 54 lbs of air and an outlet temp low enough that a good intercooler can bring it down to ambient would be, well, I can't think of one.
Actually, that would be at 20 PSI, anyway. To flow that much air at only 15 PSI woud take a charge temp of around 40°F.

I really need form 21A - MM' Sidekick for photoshoots...

But I am with you...I need not only the dyno sheet but a pretty complete parts list...something simply just doesnt add up here...you would require pretty heavy work and the stuff that has already been done and well documented has yet to even break 390 let alone 460. Not saying it cant be done...just that I need to be shown the light...

Dave is running a unique setup. I'll get the details from him later!

Who cares? If its too much, he can just crank down the boost and run whatever power level is apropriate for the setup.
That is one of the beautiful things about a properly set-up boost system.

Well, I can tell you it was snowing in Phoenix, too. Only at 12,000 ft! I could see it on our approach. The weather has been wierd. It's 70 deg. outside right now, but I can still see snow on the mtns.

Exactly .Its not too much power BTW.

At 6psi it produces a lazy 350 RWHP . As a daily driver its beautiful. Problem is ,I haven’t found an appropriate boost controller so I am changing the spring in the wastegate . ( Jeff ,any thoughts? ) At the moment I have a 15 pound spring in it .

The turbo is a Garrett Gt 45 r .It makes 15 psi at just over 5 k RPM and screams to 10,000 RPM.

The engine has been fully dowelled and full race secondary bridge port .

We use this exact setup in a 8 sec drag car running 30 psi and 750 RWHP ( On methanol)

The engine is a 13 b REW incorporating RX8 parts as well as older school series 4 , 5 and six parts .A whole heap of custom stuff chucked in like intake manifold

I chose this option as I wanted the balance of the car to be the same and the centre of gravity to also as low as stock .

An interesting bit of info was ,on the Dyno ,in forth gear , the car was unable to keep traction, hence the 460 RWHP was in fifth with 275mm rubber and 19 in wheels .LOL!!

Due to the size of the turbo , the acceleration is smooth and manageable .15 psi is no work for the turbo and this power is not straining the engine overly .I will boost this thing to 30 PSI just to see ( on the Dyno ,of course ) what the power figure reveals

Under boost, on the street . the car breaks traction in first ,second and, at night for the first time , in third .Now that’s a bit hairy when you a doing close to 100 mph and the back steps out . This happened last night up against a “Fully Bombed” R32 GTR !!

I have some track time organised in the coming weeks so I will report back with the findings

Primary injectors are 880 cc and secondaries are 1700 cc .They are almost maxing out so another 1000 cc may be needed down the track .Hmmm Its still all a bit fresh and time will tell . I am so into this car now !!

I am sorry this is all the info I have and I will start a thread about the whole “Shemozzle” .I have been busy on the road ….( Muso’s hey ! )

I will get to all PMs too .Sorry ,I am not being a” snob” ,Just lack the virtue of time ATM

Ciao

Dave

We're pushing for as soon as possible. Spring may be a little optimistic at this point (we're in April already) but depending on your definition of spring and summer we should be inside that time frame. Obviously the earlier the better, for all involved.

We've had to address some concerns on the AccessPORT unit itself. Keep in mind its rather new for us as well, so we've wanted to work out some of the kinks in it before jumping out into new markets. We just had a few more kinks than we originally anticipated when we first started talking publicly about supporting the RX-8. Sorry about that delay.

Reflashing the RX-8 isn't the hard part, and not the reason for the delay. It's all down to getting the AccessPORT up to snuff and our CAN cable fully sorted. Once that's done, we'll be ready to get this out to you guys.

Thanks for your patience,
Trey @ COBB

just re-read your post. Word of caution - using a setup for a car that is designed to only run 8 seconds at a time... is a lot different than tracking for 20 minutes. Let us know how it goes... your pioneering into uncharted waters for the renesis motor - and many of us are curious to see how this develops.
