Help

I finished installing the Greddy turbo kit last night and started it up. It started up fine, but the oil pressure line to the turbo was leaking, about a quart of oil total leaked out. Some smoke came out from around the exhaust manifold, but I assume this was from oil burning off. It was running for about 30 seconds. Today I tightened up the oil line and tried to start it again. Unfortunately, it would not turn over, it just cranked. I'm not sure if it flooded and possibly fouled the plugs or what. It actually was cranking funny as well. Instead of a chug chug type crank like usual it was just a constant rrrrrrrr noise.

Any ideas would be really helpfull!!!!!!!

I tried the deflooding procedure of holding down the accelerator and cranking for 10 seconds, then cranking normal, but it didn't help. Plus the car was sitting overnight, shouldn't the residual fuel have evaporated by now?

If it flooded bad then the "procedure" may not work. That's why many had to get the car towed. Flooding doesnt seem to be nearly as common as with the old flashes, mine never has and has the M flash. Just going by the sound you described as a smoothe rrrring, sounds like the many symptoms many that have flooded descibed in the past. Not sure if the mod has any effect or just happened cause you had to shut it down so quick. Thats about the limit of my knowlege, need to hope someone with more answers or call the dealer.

After researching a little bit I think the problem is in fact flooding. Man, what a bad time to flood for the first time! I'm on the N flash too! I'm a little afraid of injecting windshield washer fluid into the engine, just doesn't seem right. I called the dealer and even though I have the turbo installed, they said they will deflood it under warrenty! But I am hesitant to give it to them since I haven't had a chance to run it with the turbo installed, I would really like to have myself or someone knowledgeable with tubo's, to be there when it fires up to make sure everything is okay.

well dealers work wit rx7's too, so i wouldn't worry about it too much. But i be worried if they flag your vehicle for any future warranty issues. I've been dying to call my dealers for certain things, but don't want to really take the chance. In your case you really don't have much a choice. Good luck with it. May the force be with you

I've been injecting the washer fluid into my engine once a week for two months. The whole DIY takes ~10 minutes to do and it's fairly easy to reverse if you don't like it. $5 of parts can probably get your car unflooded - not bad.
