I'm okay just a little stiff. Luckily we have some good docs on staff to treat me.

I saw her in my rearview and knew she was not going to stop, she smacked me good and forced me into the car in front of me. The RX-8 took the hit like a champ but Hoss will be getting a new rear bumper and front bumper cover, that is for sure. I estimate the damage to be in the $4,000.00 range. I will also pursue a loss of value claim.

Luckily I deal with auto insurance companies thru work all day so I am experience in dealing with their BS. It sucks to see Hoss's car busted up but honestly I am a bit jealous and wish I was driving mine I want the vertex Kit

Yes I have, it's a veilside (aka Failside) knock off and I will straight up kick you in the nuts if you even think of putting that on your 8.

The Borla is the hands down best sounding catback.

I think lead times are going to be critical here or I would pick up something crazy like the full ken style kit. I think alot of the auto ex stuff is stocked in the US and I am considering that.

Its really to bad mazda stopped stocking the mazdaspeed parts or I would pick them up.

I agree the borla is the best sounding but a part of me wants to keep it at three inches.

you can still get mazdaspeed. i just ordered from mazdamotorsports.com and they shipped to me as usual. My understanding is that they don't stock painted parts anymore but they have primered.

Brand new Chrysler 300 rental FTL. It reminds me why I don't own an American car.

3 inches all the way or three inches to muffler?

you will still get the same flow out of borla compared to any 3 inch exhaust. (please do not start breaking down gas expansion and flow from 3in to dual 2.5 as we have discussed that in another thread and come to the conclusion that the flow is still at or above a 3in pipe when split to dual 2.5 in.) Borla will have more back pressure which I would think would be good on a sc set up.... not so much on turbo though.

I dont disagree at all and I am sure it would work fine for my purpose not to mention when paired with my BHR mid pipe give me crazy good sound.

hoss: sorry to hear about the stupid lady on the phone hitting you car.
Scott, glad to hear no one was seriously injured and fortunately you deal with this sort of thing all the time so you're doing the right thing and getting checked out right away.

Hoss: Vertex USA is here in San Diego, wouldn't be hard to get that kit to TX....
although a full Kenstyle would be badass. (too bad it might take a few months)
AutoExe is stocked here, I believe Paul @ Mazmart is one of the few authorized dealers so you can hit him up.

decisions, decisions.

That makes no sense, how could they not except liability. Let me know how I can help. Do you have any proof or witness statements that she was on the phone when it happened? The car is bright red how can someone not see it?

Thanks man. Full Kenstyle would be bad *** but I just cant wait that long. Maybe if my R3 gets delivered next week but that is not going to happen.

Yeah I will hit up Paul pending on the outcome in the next week or so.

I dont want to step all over Scotts Vertex dreams lmao. We cant have two red vertex kitted cars in SARX now can we?

Screw him, you got it first.

Besides, he did wreck your car

Seriously, Glad you're alright Scott. If you got rear-ended, it's always the other party's fault. Even if it was just the tip.

My experience with the hymee kit is that the 3" pipe is too loud. I had a headder, 100 cell high flow cat resonated mid pipe and a hymee cat back. Then I went to a second resonator and a quieter free flowing cat back and this cut down teh harsh raspyness however, still loud.

I have now changed to a twin 2"pipe past the cat with a resonator on each pipe. The car now sounds civilised however one of the new rear muffelers has split from the volume of air going through. I am thinking of getting the cat backs packed with steel wool to cut down the noise further.

I will find out soon if this system has lost any power. I will retain the 3" system and use it on tracks that don't have noise restrictions

Been an expensive exersice.

They accepted liability finally after to talking to the driver of the vehicle I was forced into.

I returned the 300 and got a Chevy HHR. It is even more lame than the 300, at least with the 300 I got some street cred from my homies. I really can't understand how someone could drive either one on a daily basis, it is just depressing.

The car is in the shop, Matt will let me know on Monday what the extent of the damage is.

Hmmmm, two VR Vertex rides in SARX? I can roll with that.

Brett, you have us figured out!!

It's like a water bed on wheels. It's such a pathetic automobile. They tried to add all these Mercedes like features and failed miserably. Even the key is a knock off Merc key. The Chevy HHR is pretty pathetic as well but at least it's small.

You want 3" and dual 2.25" for sound modulation. It will still be loud because there is no sound disturbance with a SC like a turbo, but dual 2.5" will be louder still. Dual 2" will be quieter, but cause a restriction on FI. I run 3" to dual 2" on my NA.

btw, unless you get a high end model all rental cars suck. Everyone one of them is a cheaped up lowest cost version of what you get from a dealer. Think detuned RX-8 4-port auto stripped and cheapened where ever possible with manual everything
