How Kane and Ray build a Ceramic, Ported, Turboed Renesis!!!!
#52
Thanks for the site read, Kane. I did not know they were easier on the housing; I thought as a by-product of being stronger than steel seals, they would "cut" into the housing easier.
But I see that they are less abrasive than seal, which makes them much better.
I can't wait to see you put boost into the engine. It should definitely hold out more than any other Renny. And ported + boost is going to sound awesome!

What he's getting things I did not get in my build? You most likely needed a bath if he threw you in

He calls me jarhead to **** with me; inside joke. Plus my old man did 26 in the Corps and I did Marine OCS once upon a time.... But we already have our few good men....they wear dive pins! Lol

RE: your engine, now that I think about it both engines looked similarly good internally.
Nah, it was an expression of "brotherly love" between a couple Alpha Males. Besides, it wasn't as easy as he thought it would be and he ended up in the drink with me. Truthfully, if Kane and I lived in the same neighborhood we would probably be full-time "roll dogs" especially after our 2-hour conversation from the other night..........

Ok, i run away
Anyway dealing and doing projects with you always involves a good dose of fun, without lacking professionality. This living thousands miles away and having never met, i can only imagine what the heck happens while dealing with you guys at bhr in person

That depends on who all is hanging out at the time. For example, Erick and I harrass each other during installs but we have a great dynamic as far as looking out for one another and checking each others' work. Jeff and I never talk about cars when we are hanging out. Todd and I have spent a LOT of time discussing all sorts of things. Get us all together, along with Hund, and we usually have drinking games going on.
Anyway there are just a few shops\groups\ensembles out there having a soul in addition to their products. You rank there, with Mazmart and a few others.
Threads like this show very well what i mean imho.

yep - exactly the same spot ....
It's my 'dirty' secret - cuz iv'e been driving it around like that for a year now and it's part of the reason why i don't mind pushing my engine to the limit . Cuz i know i'm gunna have to rebuild it sometime anyway .

Awesome. I know you spent a grip but it's worth it. As for the wire tuck, I did this on my CRX and it is a bitch. the end result is insane but man it is a lot of work and the RX-8 would be twice as hard. It would be sick though.

Not really, but given that the rotor moves at 1/3 the "RPM" as the shaft I see little benefit from it while potentially weakening rotors that have already been cut for ceramic seals. We were lucky the rotor tips did not perforate with the cuts. Kane and I crossed our fingers with that one. Remember, this is still largely a street car and I am pretty sure Kane would like to be able to drive it for a long time before swapping engines again.........

No it is so cool. Like a big Christmas present! I know I just got a new motor but the next one will be BHR built for sure. Am I weird or what, this almost makes me wish my motor blew and I was getting this.
