Joe

Hadn't you got the word?? Hymee has given up and come to work for Axialflow in California. ;) I suspect he wanted to keep it quite until he was wheels up out of Oz.
I guess you'll just have to place your order with us. :D

Rasputin 05-24-2005 01:40 PM

Nope, the truth is Hymee is holding the whole thing back a bit in order to wait for the completion of the Axialflow supercharger design verification testing.
Therefore expect a late 2006 availability...;) :D :D

Hey Hymee, just wanna say that there is one more guy who is supporting U here. don't worry about the crap and please keep up your project. BTW, have been thinking to get the Greddy turbo kit but I think now I should first wait for something which is more interesting at here..(um.. still thinking.. the greddy kit is expensive..)

aa

Hymee 05-29-2005 04:39 PM

aa,

Thanks for your support and encouragement.

UPDATE:

We have currently been looking at mounting the blower so the inlet is at the front, to give a more direct path from the CAI to the throttle body / blower. This alleviates one main packaging problem, but also introduces some other "challanges".

Cheers,
Hymee.

I like your supportive message , however your innuendo is not so subtle. :p

( HYMEE IF YOU DONT GET THE SUPERCHARGER READY I MAY GET A TURBO GREEDY KIT ) :D

By the way the Greedy kit is not as expensive as you may think , i negotiated Daves unit at a considerable discount . ;)

No one will be able to produce a supercharger kit for around $6200 and thats the retail price of a Greedy kit, so if you think Hymees kit will be cheaper no offence but keep on dreaming . :)

If Dave gets his Greedy kit fitted and tuned you may see it on the 19th of june on the Brisbane drive day  and with a bit of luck i may have my car with the stage 2 canzoomer unit fitted to show you guys ;)

cheers
michael

Hymee 06-26-2005 08:08 AM

All,

I have been working on the engineering of the blower drive for a bit now. Lots of fun, and hopefully some new ideas that will make the install even more "proper" and more "stealth".

Have most of the drive parts on order, just waiting for them to get back in stock and arrive here in Aus. Then I can post some more pics.

Have done some nice stuff to fairly easily change the combo to give 4 different drive ratios for a minimum of belt/sprocket combinations.

I really wan't to get something down the track at the Jamboree in September, and then down to the proposed Australian RX-8 Nationals in October.

Cheers,
Hymee.

BTW - Thanks for those who are being patient. You know this is being done "part time". I really wish it could be done full time. I'm thinking of some ideas to raise some capital to help push things along...

How about a non-refundable deposit on pre-orders with a promise of a subsantial discount should things workout as planned.
With the discount being proportional to the size of the deposite. Sort of like a sliding scale...

Have you gotten the ECU issues worked out?

At this stage I can honestly say we don't have any such issues ;)

But there are a few things that I can't say here at the moment due to "commercial" reasons.

Cheers,
Hymee.

He can say so with complete honesty, because he hasn't gotten that far yet. ;) :D
The few things he can't say are due to the commercial he is making for the Rum Factory. Now his elbow is so sore he can't type long. :D :D

Rofl!

You could say RAP is even further behind ... at least Hymee has a working car from which to start ;) :p :D

Hymee 06-27-2005 05:27 AM

And I didn't put a trojan horse in the sCANalyser software I use to connect to my car

Hymee 07-14-2005 07:27 AM

OMG - dropped to page 2!!!

OK, time for some updates.

I got the blower timing belt(s) and pulleys recently, and Phil has done some work mounting them.

Alloy timing gears and polyurethane belts (reinforced). Note how the pulleys are "blank", and need to be bored to suit the shaft/bearing.

Temp install on engine. Check if belt length is OK. Plan is to use an idler/tensioner.

Note how the pulley has been machined to suit.

Enjoy!
