SAVING???

To hell with that.. I've got my CC on the ready and am all set to drive up to good ol' sunny QLD to get it installed by the man himselft :D
the day that happens.. it really will be "Beautiful one day.... PERFECT the next" ;)

auzoom 09-13-2005 08:56 PM

dont get me wrong I want to save, but I see no point saving at this point if its going to be 11k (much as I would love to).

Is the intercooler still going where the OEM windshield washer reservoir is? And if so, will you not then have different RH/LH configurations and parts? How's that part of this project coming along? Hoping you found that elusive simple answer...
Good to hear of your recent advances! ;)

That's why I am saving. The sooner I start the sooner I reach the amount it will be. If it's higher it will just take longer.

Hymee's twin screw is the only reason I still have my 8. If he had said he was scrapping the project I would be in an evo by now especially at the price I was offered one for! It handles as well if not better than the 8 but then also has speed on the straights. Lots of people say fit and finish of the 8 is better but on mine I disagree. Mine rattles worse than any lancer I've driven and that's with having mazda on numerous occasions try to fix it... And this was before tracking it!

As my 8 now is being focused more for track days and weekend fun runs in the mountains/coast than the day to day driver it used to be, the positives (comfort, class, looks etc) it had over cars like evo's/sti's are not as applicable as they once were to me.

With Hymee's help though it'll have the looks, the comfort, the handling and porsche like performance. A moster track car all for a total of less than $70K :D (Aus dollars of course)

I just hope Hymee can keep the price reasonable so as I can do it sooner rather than later!

can't wait to see the results of this bad boy myself.

We had some more thoughts on that since we have mounted it in the car again, and we think we have come up with a better solution, that will suit both L/H and right hand installs. I doesn't involve re-mounting the washer bottle. I think I can say we do have a simple answer for that. But I'll leave the detail of that until I have something to show for it.

There are other things too... Like the dipstick, oil filter access etc. A remote mounted oil filter might be in the wind... I guess that has a bit of cool factor

Cheers,
Hymee.

You and RP take so long I already have the cash!

Richard Paul 09-14-2005 12:42 AM

Maybe Hymee and I could split it. ;)

Nice points...Maybe I should start saving. But anyway, my comments were all just a ploy to try and get Hymee to give us an idea of how much. He is to smart for me though :D

Andrew to get Hymee to speak we just need something he wants....

HYMEE, we have a swimming pool full of Rum. Give us some pricing and maybe we can arrange a little swim. If not the Rum gets it!

JOHNRX8 09-14-2005 09:03 AM

Hymee, a video of a dyno run would be AWESOME !!!!!!!

Nemesis8 09-14-2005 12:01 PM

Patience is a virtue is what they say - he must be doing it right is all I can say. There are lots of kits out now, and more on the horizon. Owning a Renesis now in NA form, and watching the developments of all those dedicated to the need for speed is a blast, and keeps me hooked to this damn keyboard.

I wish I could be tuning my new blower though instead...

My guess is some ppl would buy that remote mounted oil filter as a separate purchase anyway.
