Your right about having a whole bunch of flashes. I currently have 20 or more as I have been slowly changing things as I build up some learning.
The reading of the flash from the ECU is possible in theory, and closer to reality in practice now I have a good "live mode" option running with my flashing hardware. I just need to do some more work. Too many things, not enough time...
Cheers,
Hymee.

The debate is still out.............. Pettit or Hymee
Still don't know which one to buy yet.
I believe a SC is more suited for the RX8.
The RX8 has too high of compression and the turbo creates too much heat in order for it to be reliable. That's why I am waiting for the SC

From everything I've read, the SC does seem more suited to the 8. I really want the car to feel NA bit with more power.

Its temperatures and heat loss that must be managed, which has only a tangential relationship to boost.
BTW - Phi's S/C is putting 16 PSI into his motor. How much air is it flowing?
Different questions.
16 PSI.

So is this the part where you and the posse get together and attempt to destroy another potential competitor's thread before riding into the sunset yelling "it has nothing to do with our turbos or engine management offerings...it has nothing to do with our turbos or engine management offerings"...ready, set - GO!!!

Nope, nothing like that.
Awfully paranoid position, though.
No, people here are very capable of making independent decisions.
The problem is very few are equipped to make informed choices.
I have no real desire to convince/enlighten/destroy anything other than bad thinking like your post.

Those units are very expensive retail at the moment. Spoke to a shop here in Chicago that did a custom build on a C6 Vette, and the SC alone was upwards of $4000.
Lysholm twin screw units are just as efficient and you can get one off the shelf with snout for ~$1700.
All that's the easy part, though. Aside from the obvious need for fabrication skills, packaging a positive displacemnt SC isn't easy, and on the RX-8 you will have to relocate/replace/modify many items under the hood. The big issue with atttempting that unit direct from an Audi would be its snout length for pulley alignment. You'll want a very short snout for the RX-8.
Hymee's fitment, to say the least, is very very nice from the pictures he's posted.
