I am stuck with Walbro issues

well i'll just get straight to it, i am installing a Walbro 485LPH E85 pump into my RX8. however, it does not fit. It's too long, thick etc... i am wondering if anyone else has installed this into there 8 and maybe shine some light this way?

Thanks guys

What made you pick this pump to try without knowing if it would fit? The DW 200 and DW 300 are higher flow pumps that will fit a Series 1 RX8. None of these will fit a Series 2 pump assembly.

Can you return this pump and get one that will fit ? Is this necessary for your car to run E85 fuel ? (which is not a recommended fuel for any rotary engine ever made)

Well the full details... the car is running a Bridgeport 13B-REW, and will be pushing over 600whp on E85. this is the reason why i went with the Walbro 485lph. The pumps you mentioned do not flow more than the 485lph Walbro

I thought you were talking about a street Renesis engine. I have had a heavily modified and ported Racing Beat built 13B Turbo Rotary engine in my past race setup RX7, only up to 400+ hp,(not street legal) but I would never have run that engine on E85 without some major tuning changes and I still wouldn't have used such gas..

But if you are so into the know on your 600+hp 13B-REW car, why did you not know this pump wouldn't fit before you took things apart. If you are essentially running a race car, you should have completely changed the fuel pump system to one really built for a race car, not try to modify the inferior stock pump assembly. You are better off now asking for help from those who can point you to a complete fuel pump system made for your setup. In my case I had Racing Beat fabricate a heavy duty racing fuel delivery system, pump to engine.

LOL.... i am not using the stock fuel system at all, i am using the FFE complete fuel kit. for the 13b-REW. -6AN fittings and lines, its a return system,

the only thing stock about the fuel system is the Fuel tank and Fuel Pump Canister.

didn't want to do this but i've decided to toss the walbro 485, and just do a surge tank setup, and external bosch 44.

More work, and more Money... but oh well.
