LC-1 Wideband Installation Question
I'm going to be installing my wideband this weekend and I have a question about the installation as far as running cables go. I am installing the bung on my RP cat (I'm NA) and I'm trying to decide how to run the sensor wiring. I have reviewed the wideband installation threads, and I'm not sure I saw anyone cover whether or not the little box the o2 sensor connects too can be under the car/near the engine bay due to heat. I see some threads show that it is, yet I thought I saw a post on running the sensor through the shift boot, which would mean the box would be in the cabin.
Can that little box survive under the car with just the wiring running through the firewall? Should I heat wrap all the wiring? The sensor wire pre connection to the sensor box is not even three feet long.

If you pull up the sill under the passenger door ledge, you can see the plastic drain plug in the floor pan that is parallel to the CAT.
Pull the plug and run the wires up through there and into the passenger compartment.
MadDog had a failure of the control module that Innovate blamed on engine heat. His was mounted somewhere around the wiper reservoir.

MM, I'm assuming your talking about the black plastic panel that runs the length of the door. Is that easy to pop out? I think I would need to run it through the drivers side through if I place the bung on that side of the cat right?

I have my module under the ashtray unit and it barely fits. The wires from the module to the sensor are run under the shifter boot bracket and fit fairly well, although if they were bigger I'd be worried about squishing them too much. All in all it worked out well for me. I'll try to remember to take a picture next time I'm under the car. I'll even pull up the center dash around the shifter. From there my wires run up behind the radio unit and into the top center dash (where i thought i was going to put my derwankel pods). They could easily reach to the driver's side a-pillar from there though, if you want to go that route.
