Lets talk about upgraded fuel injectors

I need a new set of fuel injectors and while shopping around I found two different options but I am unsure what injectors are better.

Fluid Motorsports sells a set of 650cc injectors for $300 that are not OEM but are designed for aftermarket fuel systems that are high impedance with better spray patterns. Brice claims his fuel injectors have better reliability than OEM.

Mazda Maniac sells a set of 650cc injectors for $220 but they are simply Yellow OEM injectors that he is popping the end off and flow matching it to 650cc.

What set of fuel injectors is better?

or just send your stock injectors to kgparts.com and have them reworked for $25 a piece...which is pretty much what MM does

In the end if the injectors are flow matched to provide the proper amount of fuel, its probably fine either way. I use the 650ccs from MM and have no problems.

High-impedance injectors wont work with the stock PCM, BTW.

How long was the turnaround?
Turns out my little turbo is pushing mine over 90% duty cycle pretty regularly at a measly 7.5psi
I need to have mine done..but really cant have my car down for too long.

On their website it says 24hrs turn around time. Not including shipping time. They can ship it back next day but that will be an extra cost.

I will be pulling out all my injectors on Monday to have them flow matched. I will ship them out next day and pay the extra shipping for next day return. I will let you know how it goes.

This means I need to pay Jeff $299 for tuning. This is not a cheap hobby. lol

BTW does anyone know how many hours it takes to remove the fuel injectors? I want to make sure my Mazda tech is quoting me a decent time.

How does that work with this comment:

BLUE 480cc

Injectors are Bosh disc-type, high impedance (13 ohm) with a Denso connector.

Back when I did my rebuild a couple years ago I had my injectors flow-matched by RC Engineering and they gave me a before/after data sheet. I posted the numbers and we were all surprised by the wide variation that Mazda deemed acceptable. I am pretty sure having all six injectors matched will make tuning a LOT more accurate and quicker.

i use the red injector grommets all the way around--seem to fit better?
Look at the 09 injectors --they are nice--expensive new but maybe a used set can be found?

for flash tuning it seems like the injector scaling and latency tables would be made a lot easier if mazda injectors were used.

if you replaced both 380cc yellow 6port inj with the 480 blue 4 port injectors and rip the latency table from an 4 port flash tune - that way you know it is right instead of guessing at the values of other injectors or trying to tune your injectors.

the 550cc injectors will be a great upgrade when cob or hymee can extract the latency tables.

Already done.

Don't forget - the P2 and secondaries share a latency table, so if you put injectors with a different latency in either of those positions, they will be off.

I'm having some Yellows reworked for the P2s. Does this mean the latency will remain the same and all I will have to change in the tune will be the Injector size settings for that pair?

Sweet

Started eyeing those settings in advance and was dreading having to screw with those latency tables. Starting to feel like I'm getting my tune nailed down and really dont want to throw a wrench into it

I'm glad someone else knows about those. Every other injector is damn near 20 years behind his.
