Many thanks to Pettit.

Many thanks to Pettit.
Pettit Racing S/C rocks!
About a one day install in my case.
I called yesterday morning to put down a deposit; Someone had canceled due to "stork issues".
So....
Drove down to West Palm yesterday afternoon.
I made "170 HP and some change" N/A on the Dyno.
Factory ECU was reprogrammed for SC; no Int-X.
Drove home today under boost.
Maybe a turbo makes more horsepower eventually, mine is FUN instantly.
I can't say it will happen as fast for everyone.
But I want to give a big thank you to all of Pettit Racing for this fast, painless installation.
PS: When is the next club meet with a Dyno?

What qualifies some one as a "pro" tuner shop? Is it how many engines they blow or how much you know about the product?
I know a few guys who don't own shops but there main passion in life is cars andd there product knowledge and tuning capablities are far more refined that a "pro" tuner shop is. IMO I would rather trust those people more then a Pro Tuner shop.

Sorry for the spank, but many shops are OK; Then again, there are some that are not.
Seriously loving the boosted RX-8.....
Peace.

However, in some circles, your question would be regarded as heresy.

Now, you tell me which device is actually "instantly" fun.

Pettit has a dynojet machine in their shop. It's ground level too, so strapping a car on is a walk in the park.
The next time someone has their SC installed at the shop, insist on an after dyno, and request the .drf dynojet file.

Did they offer to dyno and you turned it down to 'break-in' the unit?

If their dyno chart showed below 3,000 rpm we might know if they make more power under 3k or not, but unfortunately we don't even have that, so he can't even make the claim of more power in the low rpms than a turbo.

I know of at least two people that dynoed in the mid 290's, and their curves looked virtually identical to Pettit's, with a bit lower peak.
If they cared to post their dynos, more power to them.
Cam's car has the same flash/setup as mine. When we had the same setup pre-flash (interceptor-x/same map) we both dynoed at 261. By that reasoning I would say that I'm up around 300. I'd get a dyno, but it wouldn't prove anything to me, so it's not a priority.

Good thing for you that you don't have to worry about too much torque, huh

I would just be paying for a piece of paper, and it's not worth it to me since there are plenty of other things I'd rather spend my money on. Make sense, or should I dumb it down further?
As I said before:
If you're going to boast about how fast your car is, then be prepared to back it up (legally). Obviously you're not prepared, or maybe you're just not confident about what's under your hood. Either way boasting on your part is pretty silly. I have never said that my car is faster than anyone's, but if I did, I sure as hell would back up my words with some action, not some jumpy curve on a piece of paper.
