Mazdatrix RX-8 Dyno Sheet

Sorry about the long delay we have had a busy year so far.

We were able to get our Time Attack RX-8 with the multi-port turbocharged Renesis back on the dyno recently and finally got the numbers we expected. 413hp at 14psi, still conservative on the tune as we are planning to get back on the dyno soon for more improvements.

Nice peak power number.
Now, get that turbine housing sized correctly and build more torque sooner!
She's a lag-monster like it is now.

With that wacky 5-port, peripheral/side port exhaust, you could probably take advantage of a divided inlet better than most.

But, I'd start by going to a divided housing if it isn't already and down one a/r sizing.
That would allow full boost to come on sooner, which means more torque nearly everywhere.

That is the beauty of a top-mount turbo - you can play with housings relatively easily and it is cheap.

As an exanple of the opposite extreme, a GTX3076R compressor with a .78A/R divided housing and exhaust manifold made 360 ft-lb @ 3300 and 385 hp @ 7500 on a friends stock FD3 engine. He has a hard time keeping 335/17 Hoosier DOT-R autox race tires from spinning ...

Exactly, though I'd suggest that a .78 might be a bit tight. The GTX wheel moves a lot of air. I had one of these on my car for a while, but with a .82 housing.
I didn't know Garrett was offering a .78. Usually it is .62, .83 or 1.06.
Probably a "hybrid" with a T4 hot-side.

Yes, it hits the wall over 8000. It is actually one of the new Precision units in equivalent compressor trim and a hybrid divided T3 turbine housing, hard to find the specs on it so I just used equivalent info people can relate too more readily. He recommended a divided 1.06 T4 instead to make the low end a bit more contollable and extend out the top end potential.

Oh. We've had a few of those Precisions pass under my nose at the shop. They look kinda hard to beat on paper (and the reviews are good), but the specs are kinda "spacey".
The big T4 housing will give up a LOT of torque. I wouldn't go that far.
Either the equivalent a/r T4 or up a rating on the T3 would do the trick.

Btw -- We are planning on having the turbo RX8, with our wide-body kit on it, out at MazFest August 13 at Fontana.

It will be there for the free ride-alongs, along with Kyle Mohan's turbo RX7 ex drift car and our 250 RWHP NA 1st gen.

Come on out.

That car is amazing! Any chance your going to be coming to Miller Motorsports Park in Utah for the Redline event in August? Would be killer to see it live in action.

I'm asking because i have some friends that thaey have drag cars running with rotary engine, and one of them want to build a project with my car we want to give some boost to the engine but you know that the exhaust ports on the renesis sucks and can cause damage to the side seals i just want to know if there is some mods that have to be made to the side plates or the housing or is a direct bolt on
