What exactly does the car do that it shouldn't if you don't do the amp button thing?
When you have it on fresh air and put the fan speed to the highest setting it won't switch to recirculate on its own unless you do this a/c button thing?
Cant you just put it on high fan speed then press the recirc button?
I have never seen any problems with my recirc button except that when I have it on front defrost, it makes me use fresh air which I hate. Fresh air means sucking on some dually's exhaust pipe...

I think it keeps the compressor from cycling as much and some people swear that magically the A/C actually performs much better.
I had done it long ago and being Winter, I did forget to go do it again after the ignition install......but Summer she is a comin' fast!
Oh yeah............and as Swoope said, I believe it only applies to 04's and then some early 05's?????

I just did it also but I don't see any difference?? Mazurfer said it will help your a/c compressor cycle better to get a little colder air. I don't know if it does anything at all with the recirculate functions?
I was hoping it would let me put on the recirc function while I used the front defrost but it still forces fresh air on that mode![Confused](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/confused.gif)
You only need basic tools, sockets and wrenches and a very small flat head screw driver or a pic for removing the plastic wire harness holders. The instructions will tell you what tools and sizs you will need.

The recirc button moves a flapper door behing the glovebox. On fresh it draws air in from the cowl through the HVAC system. On recirc it closes the door to the cowl and draws air in from behind the center console.
So of course it cools better on recirc because you are blowing 75 degree F inside air over the AC coils rather then 95 deg F outside air over the AC coils...

But I did dyno it before and after the a/c fix and it did show 1 hp gain at idle, above that it tested the same.
I will now ignore the a/c fix and see if someday I notice something.

I'll look here in a little while and edit this, but I know you need at least an 8mm and a 10mm........that could be it? Check back later and I'll edit as needed. Ahhhhhh.........see below....now I don't have to go look! Thanks!
Oh......to the others............I never said the A/C thing worked, I don't know if it really does anything either, but you can go read the threads on it and see what you think, or you can wait for a really hot day and do it to see if it makes a difference.

Ok I need help with the ms harness connectors. I have the pettit s.c installed and the coil pack was relocated during that install. landmarks including in the instructions are no good for me. Can someone tell me which oem harness connector plugs into the new harness connector with the red wire. Is it rear trailing or is it front leading? I suppose after that is follows the order stated in the instructions.
Then can someone also tell me which MS harness coil plug (the new ones) goes with the connection listed above. Does the last connector on that harness go with the rear trailing or the front leading?
it would have been better for us mutant cars if these harness connection had been simply marked.

He's as bad as Can
OEM L1 Green => MS Grey / Red
T1 White => MS Grey / White
L2 Yellow / Green =>MS Grey / Black
T2 Blue / Orange =>MS 2 wires a red & Grey
As for the MS harness to NEW coils I was told by Scott the LAST connector goes to the FIRST coil (L1) and the others follow in order T1,L2,T2 Like the photo in post #431

Will get better with time, but those of us that were in on the pre-release buy back at the very beginning of the year just started getting them about three-four weeks ago, so you probably have about another two weeks or so.

Feel for me, I know I need them but have yet to put in an order. Today's 45° weather makes me want to get out the car, even though I know we're all but guaranteed to get more snow this month. Perhaps I will alleviate my agitated state by finally ordering this upgrade.

When should I order this to expect it being deleiver before the 19 of April? Also I'm in Canada. I noticed that dealers can void your warranty over this since its the ignition portion. Is there any way to counter this, I mean if an issue did arise you could prove it wasn"t ignition related, is there any other way for a newbie to not have his engine warranty voided cause of this mod.

You better order it right now, if you want it by the 19th of April, and it's unlikely you will get it in time.
The only sure way to not have it void the warranty, is to keep all the old coils, bracket, and wires from the OEM setup and switch it back before taking it in should you ever have to do so. They have to prove it was the aftermarket that caused the problem, butu it just not worth the hassle. Just change it back.
