Merc's Turbo Build

Based off the forums they are pull. So pretty much these are for when I am sitting in traffic in Chicago taking about an hour to get to a destination 5 miles away, or a couple of hours just trying to get downtown.

I have read your threads, nice setup and things you have tried.

Well, if it doesn't work, bummer. Bad investment then, but if it does, great...
On the Scott situation, bad business situation at the time and its unfortunate, On the other note, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae should have been restructured a long time ago instead of being driven by politics and blaming everything on the banks. Bad business strategy...
Anyhow, I come here in peace to enjoy the car like everyone else. So how is the weather out there in Texas? Received the hurricane preparation e-mail from work for Houston, but doubt that type of weather gets up there? Or does it in San Antonio?

Finally got the car back together, checked all the couplers and everything seems good. Waiting on getting it tuned now.
Question: Does anyone know what the enclosure is called that the side markers sit int, a clip on it is missing a piece making the bumper not to align properly.

I did also buy a 180* coupler, but with the BOV, Kane quickly brought it to my attention on the Vacuum leak with my type of BOV since I do not have the anti stall spring on it.
The hose looks nicer than the one I ordered only because it is black, you think the humps on the hose would make much of a difference if it were smooth?

Been logging this whole week, and moved to the 6500 - 8000 RPM range, temps got to 197.6 on the water and 217 on the oil. Thinking on getting something for oil cooling, better coolers or such.
Brettus, what are you using?

Did you heat shield around the turbo on the firewall? Let's just say I have partially melted a shoe or two ,
It's weird that your oil temps are that much higher than coolant. Is any of the ducting to the factory coolers missing? Also, try opening up the vents on the splash guard behind the coolers. What type of oil are you running?

No I didnt put a heat shield on, you're talking about the cover that would go around the turbo?

I was reading what nascar and Chevy thinks of oil temps. 220-230 is the perfect temp for running hard (racing). Any higher the oil starts to brake down and loses it effectiveness. 200 and lower will make you lose hp. The oil is to thick, making the pump work harder, bearings don't like it and seals have to work harder to push through it.
I was thinking of getting a thermostat for the oil. Try to stabilize the temp to what I want.

The car is looking good with the AFR targets, and learning how to use the BC correctly definitely plays a big factor. Took a while to get it to what I wanted to see but in the end it worked out well.
Kane is a great person to work with and to logically make everything make sense is the best part. Rather than having boost but not having the true understanding of what is going on.
Hopefully find a deal on the forums for a midpipe and catback.

Sweet - good example on how to do this right - well done .
As far as the oil cooling goes - i just have 1 oil cooler but fitted an extra radiator where the 2nd oil cooler goes on US models . Works great .
