Thank you, this site has actually helped me quite a bit with prepping the car with the needed/preferred hardware prior to the turbo install along with Gregs assistance.

But now it seems from here the next moves are more or so test and experiment, or wait for the next best thing. Brettus or someone finds the next best thing.

Thank you will do, was trying to finish some logs last night, but the BC is acting completely different especially with the temperature at night dropping to 55. I am getting higher initial boost spikes then when it was 80 outside.

But looking forward to your findings and the others as well.

Cheers

Well, this should be interesting.. I ask a body shop about getting a kit on and they start talking about lambo doors, halo lights, and stripes.

Hit rewind, and said I am only looking to get fiberglass work done with a paint match, and somehow they tried to start talking about lambo doors again and that we should discuss what I want done to the car. Almost felt like I was talking to a wall...

So many plans, too little time... Grad school has me all over the place along with 15 hr days at work...

But I am tuned at 6 PSI and think I am done tuning for the season as time does not permit much... However, I have been buying body parts for the car, got some side skirts and am looking for a front bumper.

Have a bunch of aluminum sheets and getting ready to weld some things for the engine bay, but again time.

Overall, car is doing great, and I have been checking the logs as the weather changes to make sure everything is staying on par.

Looks good to me, so long as it isn't bogging , that is what you want to see . previous log was at much lower loads so ok to have higher AFRs .

I was thinking there would be some movement along the afr's, especially when the injectors kick in. Weather played a big role in the calc load... Since I have not changed anything.

Since it is bogging, is a good sign it is getting too much fuel, maybe if I adjust my VE tables to lean it out a bit. Does the factory sensor bottom out at 11?

You need to distinguish the difference between a misfire and a bog . It is quite possible it's just bogging . In which case you do need to lean it out some .
Yes the stock sensor bottoms out at 11 so you really don't know where you are at . By same token you want your afrs to be around 11 . PIA isn't it

Fun... Well since you gave the great idea to me to do a new grounding for the coils, I guess this is my chance to have a proper ground for my Innovate AFR setup as it is going bonkers from 7.4 to 21.9 back and forth.

This should give me a much better idea of my AFR's and where it is at. Once I am there, it should help clear some things up. Back to fidgeting with the car and determining if the misfires are occurring from being too rich.

Check your sensor placement location:

1. Bung location is on the top side of the exhaust tubing so the tip of the sensor points downwards when you screw it in so the sensor doesn't pick up moisture which can damage the sensor.

2. Operating temp of most sensors is very fussy, so if it's too far down the exhaust pipe it will constantly be below temp and not show correct AFRs. To close to turbo outlet and it will cook the sensor. Different sensors have different requirements so check the Innovate recommendations - there should be some rough guidelines for placement on turbo applications. your RX8 install will be slightly further from the turbo due to higher exhaust temps.

I'm sure you're smart enough to figure this out, but you obviously don't want to bother taking any AFR readings while the engine is cold as the sensor needs to come up to temp before giving any useful readings.

Brettus,

Now that it has warmed up a bit, I am able to drive it a little more. I am seeing the bogging you are talking about and I believe it is because I am running too rich and with the sensor I cannot see anything dropping below 11. Thinking on tuning it slightly above 11 so I see it register at 11.25. Either that or get my lazy *** to get my Innovate sensor to work.

That is the dilema we all face . Ideally Afrs want to be around that 11.0 ... yet we can't see it if it is that .
At your loads it would be fine to bring afrs up to just above the line then maybe drop them back to be on the line .

Thanks for the reply Brettus.

On a good note, I just dropped my side skirts off for paint, can't wait to get them back. Hopefully it looks nice, other wise I guess they will be on sale if they don't.
