Most powerful greddy turbo set up

Hi,

I am referring to using the greddy bolt on kit, you can use any turbo providing it fits and any other part needed. I am assuming the mm upgrade is the best. Well i know its the best that i have read so far on the site, but whats the most powerful rx8 on the forum using this set up?

do you mean the greddy manifold and pipework setup ? I guess that would be MM - somewhere north of 350whp . But he aint telling us the real number.
If you are just talking about the Greddy turbo - we have seen 290whp from one member .

I've been around the forum for a while.

While the MM turbo is capable of the airflow required for higher HP #s, the highest dyno that has ever been posted by any member here is around 313 from the MM turbo.

A few people have "turned up the boost" with the MM upgrade, but there are not a lot of dyno sheets posted. Mysql was running well over 300whp at 9 psi and is running 12 psi now but doesn't have a dyno posted. I've heard anecdotally that Jeff is running well north of 350whp on his car, with water/meth, but he has been resistant to putting high hp claims on the MM upgrade for good reason. He doesn't want to advertise 400whp with his kit and then see people blow their engines up trying to get there.

The kit may be capable of hitting 400 whp with other upgrades like injectors/ignition and water/meth, but I won't be the person to break that barrier. I'll be more than happy with 300-325whp on a daily driven RX-8. Most people buying the upgrade probably feel the same.

^yes pushing 400 HP with the MM is prob getting towards its max and working pretty damn hard I know i wojldn't want to have it cranked up that far everyday yes at the track or something every once inawhile would b ok but personally 400 HP is alot for a DD

they have. Since it was pointed out, MM has posted datalogs showing AFR and MAF. If you know what they mean, then you'll know how much power he's making - roughly. He is north of 350. Who is to say though, if those datalogs represent the hardest he's pushed it though...

MM is hesitant on letting out numbers. Because that's all they are. There are enough people on this forum that would automatically call shenanigans on any high HP Dyno sheet from him. Unbelievers till the end.
He is thinking about putting it on the Dyno in SoCal this coming weekend. And he might post the results.
I know first hand what this car is capable of doing and it is amazing. I've seen MAF numbers off the scale. Well over 400 G/PS. Don't underestimate the MM turbo kit.

if you are looking for a dyno queen, search Esmeril, they have a dyno with their kit at 414 RWHP....
I would rather have the MM upgrade, however. Fast spooling and more efficient than the GReddy snail too.

I would go with the MM for sure! even tough the Esmeril looks nicer, but Greddy with Garret is Mum Mum=trust worthy+reliability.
Interns of Esmeril turbo, I think it cost a lot more than what it suppose to.
Well, I think MM's turbo kit have more Pros and the money are more reasonable. How I know? lots of research(Headache).

That isn't something people are really going to be able to help you with. People with the Esmeril kit will say Esmeril and people with the MM kit will say that. You can read up in the many, many threads about the kits and people's concerns about the kits. That being said, my sig shows what my personal opinion is.

That is my car way back in 2005. I'll have some new dyno numbers. I'll post them up when I get it dyno'd.

Double D sends...
