There is nothing more expensive than a 'cheap' Rx-7, especially an FD. It will cost you almost as much as a brand new 09 model '8, trust me on this one...

the reason why nobody makes a bunch of power on the renesis is because

1) engine management problems that are only now being solved with flash tuning. Accesstuner just came out... expect more knowledgeable owners to do big things
2) hardly anybody has tried for serious power... how many people actually bother with a decent sized turbo? Don't tell me a GT30 is a big turbo. It's not, not for a rotary anyway. It's still fine for the vast majority of applications for this motor, but not if you're looking for serious power. T3 hotsides are not going to work very well.

How many T67/T04R cars are there? How many GT40 cars? There are too many naysayers or people bitching about lag, as if rotarys have any power under 4000 anyway. With the 10:1 compression and alcohol injection the Renesis should be able to spool these larger turbos and make 450+ on pump gas. It's just that almost nobody has ever bothered because there's not enough demand for a shop to make a kit and not enough knowledgeable/resourceful owners to build and tune a setup like that themselves. You just need a good manifold and a good MAF setup.
