new ems option...California bay area turbo'd 8 needed
There's a company in the bay area that needs a turbo'd 8 to do some testing for a new ems that's going to fix the problems that people are having with the emanage and provide more power. This is the plan anyways, the company's info:
Quantum Performance Development
Hydra EMS America
Tel: 510-870-1550
Fax:510-740-0911
If your interested please just email or pm me and I'll send you an email link to the guy you need to talk to.

Can you provide any references for either company? I did a quick search and found this on the net: http://www.i-speed.us/news/hydra-nemesis.shtml
Over the past few months, several questions and comments have been surfacing in online communities regarding I-Speed USA, Hydra Nemesis ECU, and Crawford Performance. While some statements may be correct, there have been several comments that couldn't be any farther from the truth.
We here at I-Speed USA wish to set the record straight in an effort to keep supporting the Subaru community with the honesty and integrity which this company has built itself on.
All that being said here are some facts:
- I-Speed USA was involved with Quantum Performance Development in the pre-development and testing with the Hydra Nemesis ECU. Through the lengthy testing process we found several programming and reliability issues, which we were not comfortable with. We recommend changes be made and/or added to the ECU. Needless to say, but those changes were not incorporated to the final product. Therefore, I-Speed USA does not sell and/or promote the Hydra Nemesis ECU.
- I-Speed USA works directly, dare we say daily, with Crawford Performance. The two businesses provide two distinct services. One, I-Speed USA, builds and programs the cars. The other, Crawford Performance, designs and sells the parts which I-Speed USA uses. Because both companies work closely together, we have the same outlook on the final product. Therefore, if I-Speed USA does not support the Hydra Nemesis, then Crawford Performance does not support the Hydra Nemesis, and visa versa.
Needless to say, that does not sound like a ringing endorsement.

Here's another quick google find:
all standalones have features that make them attractive.. PNP a definate plus for those self-installing.. That what drew me to hydra in the first place and it was gonna be about 1595 racer net.. It seemed full of features. What turned me off was the lack of support from hydra. It's just that I am a highend guy.. the fact that software was a pita to use was a major bummer. left arrow was down, down was right , up was left, right was up..
It would also lock up sometimes. I was also disappointed that you could only use there wideband. But you could always sell yours. And then they wanted me to buy like 100 units. It's very similar to dta/aem/haltech as far as features and style of tables. Where you choose the Inj PW and then add with a boost comp. map.
I can tune any system I just like electromotive more.. It has more adjustablity where it counts and better control over timing, spark energy and fuel delivery. You can do just a fuel cut on the two step to keep from fouling cylinders out or filling the exhaust with fuel Or you can just retard the timing and build boost on the two step, it's your choice to use which ever. It will run eight injectors staged (4 full time and four above a certain map value) and with individual control of each cylinder, great for methanol cars
Oh, and Hydra's website seems to be inoperative.

yeah i've noticed that the website link doesn't work right now. It did the other day though. Not sure on how great this company is but I was just relaying the message in order to find a turbo'd 8 in that area who's willing to give the product and the company a look at.

Doesn't sound too bright......Take my turbo 8 to an unknown company with no experience in rotaries and let them play with my 8's computer......riite

Alright I see what you were talking about now. Yeah that 'Quantum Performance Development' it mentions is the same one I guess. I didn't know that they worked with wrxs. I have heard that they've worked with miatas and rx-7s though. sorry for the confussion.

If they were truly interested in getting someone to volunteer, I'd think they'd come on here and ask in person. And also to refute what has been listed by other tuners/speed shops.

Flyin' Miata uses the Hydra Nemesis and they are some of the best tuners for the miata.

I talked to them recently and they are shooting for early 06. I hope that is accurate. BTW, i think someone mentioned them as a "unkown company". This is hardly true.
Oh, and here is their actual website
