The car was an 06 and last at the dealer in June of last year. At that time, it had 11,600 miles. The car was wrecked in October/November according to the recovery company.

The dealer ran a compression test when the car was in last time. Came back fine, all they ended up doing was replacing the CAT and spark plugs.

Doesn't start, so I don't know how I would get the seafoam treatment to work. Plus the other fifty things I mentioned above, I am pretty confident it is toast.

done be dealer 4k miles ago... I think I am good.

I have been running Castrol 20w50 since I went turbo.

Thanks for the tip!

The fuel injectors are around 10K miles old and from Mazsport new. Thanks, but I doubt I would be surprised in this case.

Its a hard sell for me at this point. I actually really want a water/meth kit. I am having trouble finding a bottle/system I like for my car. I would need to find a nice place to stash it. The BHR bottle will NOT work for me due to its location.

I wasn't necessarily saying bigger, but from my shop talks with engine builders, the APEX seals have been the things that have been blowing. In that case, a stronger seal would certainly seem to help.

Hate to tell you this but there is one on e bay for $1600---seems good.
If I can help give a holler

The one on ebay is from an 04. I do not want another 04 engine, plus it has ALOT of miles on it. I think my $2100 deal looks pretty good when you think about it in those regards. Plus a rebuild would cost me at least 2500 if I didn't sit down and do it myself. Fact is, I am heavily burdened at the moment working a full time job, managing an investment portfolio, and starting up a business. My time is more valuable to me at the moment than money. So this option seems to be a win all around from my perspective.

My expectations of Monsieur Hill are high and I am confident he will meet them.

There is a non-zero probability that my engine is not blown, but that's not where the smart money is. Either way, we'll find out for sure on Sunday with the good mojo Ray will throw down.

Hey Shane--good luck with it man---I know busy and time restraints.
Didnt mean to sound like you didnt get a good deal on your engine 2100 for a certified low mileage engine is a good deal.
Mazsports injectors ? I didnt know that---most certainly you should be fine.
On the water meth system i also think i know what you mean. i relocated my oil filter and added a custom ww bottle to the spot on the firewall where the old ww used to be so i may end up with a trunk mount tank. Run out of space quick. Odyssey battery didnt work for me --the electric power steering was too much of a drain for a daily driver. So no space there either.
On the bigger seal thing ---if you have detonation it doesnt matter how big the seal is. the 3 mm seals can let you get away with a little more boost but if it detonates right--they will go too.

I think this thread should be an eye opener and a warning to a lot of people wanting to go FI. If you are not prepared to spend $5000-$10000 on your FI setup and another $3000-$5000 on a new engine or transmission, then you probably should not be going FI.

Take slavearm for example. He was running a properly installed and tuned Mazsport Turbo kit. His boost and his tune were not that agressive. Yet his engine went, seemingly out of nowhere. There are more stories like this all over this forum. Just ask SlideWayz, MM, or Olddragger.

I have been joking with my brother in law and neighbor that I should just be shipping my car to Puerto Rico for a few weeks and have it sent back with a 20B.

The thought I had was putting the meth bottle where the Air Pump used to be... but then again, that is almost right above the turbo in my car LOL.

I looked at that but even the 2 quart size tank really doesnt fit without a custom tray and i then wonder were to put the pump. If you have your ww tank you can convert to it --but i like having a ww to use.
Hey T--all fi's dont blow! I would advise a lot of research before fi however. Upkeep and what to look for is much different. So people have been running for a long time with FI. Esp the rx7's

On target. Old engine is out as of a few minutes ago... Scott gave us a list of things to swap (Thanks Scott), and the processing is going. I expect to fire it up on Wednesday. My new engine came with everything, but the alternator.
