That makes perfect sense.

I just need to know the direction of the coolant flow and witch is the "in" and "out" on the turbo so that I am not forcing the coolant in the popsite direction.

That is the test to determine whether or not to try to install it that day.... if you can't open it - then you have no business installing it! LOLZ

Brian - sorry to be critical but you should have lined up the actuator with the wastegate arm better ...

You are right, but there are 2 different types of actuators to choose from in this small diaphram type. The other unit with 2 angles which would fit better and more strait than the strait rod type like the one I modified, but it has a base boost of 13 psi. This one is 8 psi.

The actuator works fine with no hang ups. It cracks open at 8 psi and closes properly. If he has any problems with the actuator which I doubt he will, I will correct the issue and relocate it so it is strait.

Update:

My mechanic just called saying the BNR wastegate bracket does not fit. The actuator also has to be turned around so that he can connect the vacuum line. I paid an extra $100 for the custom bracket and wastegate. My mechanic charges $75/hr so this bracking is costing me a small fortune.

*not impressed*

Bracket doesn't fit? In what way? 2 holes don't line up? Line them up, drill one out, whatever. You get the idea. What does he mean it has to be turned around so he can connect the vacuum line? Is the vacuum line too short? Does the vacuum nipple interfere with the compressor housing? It wouldn't appear so from the pictures. Last question. Is your mechanic competent? A wastegate bracket, even under the worst conditions, is an easy thing to take care of. I know the point is that it should fit properly and that I agree with, but the possibility also exists that there is installer error.

My guess would be that the actuator was hitting the bodywork .......... space is tight down there .

TurboRX8.

I tried to make the actuator as tight as possible to the compressor housing in the factory wastegate positioning. Since I don't have the car there are still some things to work around which I was unaware of. I can credit you your $100 for the actuator since it didn't work out for you.

For everyone else, please do not beat up your Greddy wastegate actuators and this problem will not occur.

Thanks Bryan. I hate to accept your $100 offer but at this point I have no choice because it's costing me too much to get the problem solved.

My paypal address is dan@deafgoose.com

My greddy actuator and bracket was damaged because my car got towed with my motor mount removed. Apparently condo apartments do not allow you to work on your own car. It's against the "rules". I found out the hard way.

I dont see what the problem was with the Actuator, because I was able to hold 9psi all the way up to redline during my dyno pulls. Now next week I will be able to give more feedback along with dyno sheets. I have arranged for Kane to dyno tune my on the 11 of september.
