Ray, the difference is that with a turbo it is possible (but difficult) to control the amount of boost by modulating throttle. Nitrous is limited to on/off without some sort of progressive controller.
There's a big difference between only being able to select between, say, 140wtq and 280wtq, or (depending on your right foot control), being able to step up in increments 140 -> 180 -> 220 -> 280. The higher the shot the more frustrating this limitation will feel (say, if the traction conditions would allow you to use 220 but you're stuck at 140 because if you go WOT the nitrous kicks in and 280wtq makes your wheels spin).

exactly, but I would want to add to the discussion how we don't like uber spiky dyno graphs, I suppose it has something to do with the way the car drives also, which is one more good reason to get a progressive control. again, yes, this is user interaction concern, but personally, wouldn't u want that? better than "HOLY ****! HOLY ****!! THE WALL! THE WALL!!!!" lol

BTW I agree entirely on the fact that 200HP added with nitrous is the same as 200HP from a turbo or an SC... In fact you can argue that with nitrous you can get the same power with a GREATER margin of safety since you're not having to overcome any parasitic loss (mechanical or exhaust back pressure).
I just feel it's important to point out the practical differences in the kits commonly available right now, esp to the likes of Mr post ***** here

CS: I was talking about the graph being.......hmmm well, stock, say if u add 100whp with nitrous........the graph at 4k would be something like.......142whp......then suddenly BOOM!!! 220whp!! idk that seems spiky to me

which is what I'm saying I'm trying to avoid........., I don't want a freaking wall stuck up my *** any time soon, and I definitly don't want to prematurely kill my rear tires, not to mention premature death of drive shaft
but yes, from now at least people would STOP SAYING NITROUS BLOWS UP YOUR CAR!
I mean wtf, its turboed OOOOH PAWNAGE!!.......its nitrous injected OOOOOH WTF UR GONNA DIE MAN!!
**** fast and furious
and who the hell came up with that **** in the first place, don't they even know **** about nitrous? I^N@*@^@*^*

@.@ thanks, thats not so bad at all you can still see the nitrous kickin in at 4.2k rpm though, but wayy smoother than I thought

lol, for one thing supras aren't as fast as I thought without some serious cash put into it, and their handling becomes..........crap if they do that, but its not like anyone cares about handling
me gonna go dyno now, be back with sheets

wonder no more, me back, the damn bottle was cold.........but the hell with it, I aint gonna come back empty handed! (as u know, I dont have a damn bottle warmer) im scanning the pics right now
I have to tell u guys, I failed miserably, I didn't pull the fuse for DSC and TSC from under the hood, so I don't know whether that makes a change in the whp numbers or not

lol, well I dynoed at MD automotive: they're pretty close to where I live, the owner was very nice, they're the RnD place for Jackson Racing, the guy knows what he's doing and my baby wasn't harmed in anyway (except she's so freaking loud)
seriously, she's so loud I wanted to just beat her ***, god..........
well enjoy: note that this is with a cold *** bottle but.......oh well you get the point
EDIT1: ALL RUNS ARE IN 3RD GEAR! yes, I am a nub/The nitrous tank was cold (it was 70degrees Farenheit to be exact)/ did not take off TSC but it seemed to run fine
