the RX8 will hold up wonderfully to a 55 shot. I've heard some psycho's have tried 75 shots, but that usually ends up with them begging for help to rebuild the engine after a few months.

so you intentionally run rich so you can run a 65 shot?

I hear ya ...
the fuel jetting so suppose to provide the desired amount of fuel matched to the nitrous jetting (on a wet system of course a dry system would require extra fuel from the injectors).
Therefore no need to change fuel mapping.

All I can say is when it was dyno tuned by MM he felt it safer to run slightly on the rich side, combined with the 3 degree timing retard. Well at least that's what I remember. It's not much, low to mid 12 afr's

I can dig the dyno sheet up, I believe it has the AFR's on it. Got me interested now.

BTW, I also have a standard MM tune (non nitrous if you will) and with that I use the 55 shot ... runs very nicely as well.

I've experimented with the 75 shot on the 65 tune MM did for me, while the car ran awesome there was just the gut feeling of uneasiness ..... so I'm not using it that in my current setup.

Anyways things like this could be debated back and forth for years .... this is my setup ... rightly or wrongly ... car continues to perform as expected.

<<<< Happy Camper :D

I guess I'm just one of the lucky ones....
Perhaps it has something to do with how it was installed ... mmmmmm

There is no way to see how "lucky" one has been until the engine is torn down.
Ahhh yes the sweet smell of Sunoco 94

To this very day, I have never had a customer or associate lose an engine or manifold when they followed my advice.
That's a great thing to know. I know I'm always busy hijacking other people's nitrous threads. Might be tempting see about driving out to the west coast so you could oversee my install.

Well, simply put, if my interview goes well next month, then pack your bags! (and bring one of those new midpipes with ya!)

I'm kidding of course, I know you're a busy man these days, but if things do go well for me, I'll definitely be in contact about arranging something. At the least I'm sure I've give BHR a call when I run into trouble.

^196? You have a 4port? shouldn't you be pulling around 220-230hp with go-go juice?

I've got a dyno with a 55 shot at 226 hp
and a dyno with a 65 at 236 hp
I've not done a 75 shot dyno but would imagine it would hit 240's

The 196 I was speaking of was straight NA ..... no go go juice.

I called it an NA run because technically once you are on the juice you're forced induction.

edit: Oh and its a 6 port
