oh so sad . im gonna need to get a new o2 sensor. i wont have anycash for that till next week because im preparing for hot import days in daygo, this saturday. what will suck is that i couldnt buy tires for my rims and didnt get to lower my car. because i had to pay the rest of the turbo. i guess its okay. its my first show anyways, and vision ent. is hard to win anything anyways. but back to the OH SO LONG COUNTDOWN. im getting tuned as soon as i get the o2 sensor. so till then it'll have to be postponed. hopfully next week. im praying.really bad. sorry guys

Aren't they going to spring for a new O2 snsor for you? If I had people hounding me like they do for a dyno sheet, a hundred bones for a new 02 would be the LAST thing stopping me!

or maybe ask your "club" to help you out with the $100. Also, if $100 is that big of a deal, why did you drop $5k on a turbo kit?

No joke... I guess if something goes wrong, you'll be riding the TEAMBLUR BMX to work. :D I personally feel that there is more wrong than the 02 sensor, but him saying that was just a simple way of stalling progress without panicking everyone.

The car runs fine except that it is staying in open loop at idle, part throttle,etc........We need the O2 sensor so that the car will operate in closed loop at idle, part throttle, etc.......

Apparently, nobody has priced out an O2 sensor for an RX-8 because it is $200+ for the sensor.Unfortunately, the Mazda dealer did not have one when we ordered it so they said it would be 4-5 days till it came in.As soon as we get the sensor, we will put the car on the dyno.

It is $100 for a salvaged one -- I had to put one in after my GReddy install.

Well.........nobody in particular. However, if they are a decent mechanic then the install should be pretty easy.

Why didnt SFR pay for the O2 sensor? I mean, they are the ones doing the install. If it can be removed without damaging it, why should you have to pay for it. I mean, if they knew that the removal of the O2 sensor is impossible without damaging it, that money should have been factored into the cost of the install and it wasnt...

You cant have it both ways....

It is entirely possible to remove it and now break it. Many people on here have removed it without problems.

If I were in their (SSR's) position, I would have chipped-in for one the minute it happened - for the SOLE purpose of getting a friggin' dyno chart posted! Now, I'm no buisness man, but, I would think that the cost of replacing the sensor is FAR outweighed by the cost of not posting a dyno sheet on this thread for a couple of weeks after the installation. Hell, even if the sensor broke on the way home from the install, because the dude hit it with a hammer, I would have paid for a new one just to get a dyno sheet posted! especially after the bloody hell that people have put SSR through!

On the other hand, maybe they just don't care after the treatment they got here!!
