I get what you are saying. I plan on upgrading to a real turbo but not at this moment for various reasons, school being one of them. Esmeril replaces these for 550? I found a new one for 200.

Nonesense, razor sharp metal pieces are totally fine flying through the engine.

Maybe there was a nut or washer or something hanging out on the inside of the air filter that went through the fins. I mean you can bash the turbo as much as you want, but the fins wouldn't just spontaneously disintegrate right? Looks like something went through it. Though perhaps a turbo component came loose and did the damage, but I don't know enough about the innards of a turbo to know what could do that.

Yeah, there is no way the fins just vaporized. They look like some piece of metal went flying through them. I would find out what piece of metal that was before you get a new turbo... it had to come from somewhere and I can't think of anything inside the turbo that would do that. Also, check for damage from all those jagged pieces of metal...

FYI - I just finished tuning the Esmeril Kit - I will do the BC next weekend prolly... but for now it moves pretty nice.

No low end though - kinda suprising - maybe the BC will help.

That's what happens when you shoot for all top end power and a turbo isn't properly sized for your engine.

which is why a Greddy is better than most give it credit for . People stick this huge as turbo on to make huge hp forgetting about the fact that for daily driving mid range punch is what you actually use 90% of the time .....

I agree.... the goal is now to bring back as much as we can of the low end.... I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Think - what can be done with tuning to spool the turbo faster????

You might get a few hundred rpm but can't see how you would do any better than that ?

What if your goal is the high end power?? When you race track or any sort of racing, you usually between 5-9k. SO to me i think i rather have the top end since im building mine for track use. But having both would be nice.
Though i will get a better turbo this summer.

Do you guys know if you can blow out spark plugs cause of flooding issues?? cause i think that's what happen to mine. I had upgraded plugs too.

I had issues tuning the Int-X idle areas - with the load from AC/Lights/Fans or turning the wheel caused it to stall - best I could do was 13.5-14 at idle... but it was more reliable at about 12.9 no load.

:
yep - totally agree .
I friend of mine recently bought an 8 (for street use) with a big turbo in it and sold it just as quickly . Totally impractical and downright dangerous were his words as i recall .
