nice looking car-- lucky. nice.
maybe some of you guys can use a cold air supply like this.

there is a drain in there for water drainage--its really easy to do and it looks a lot better in person than in bad pic

Nope I amnot drilling hole on my front bumper. I keep the cooling air duct near the ECU that bring outside air into the hood located just under the turbo. I plan on modifying the engine tray to bring more air into the engine bay and more holes to vent hot air out. Thanks for the comment OD.

Hi Kane,
I haven't tune the car yet. I am driving it on base Map right now which runs very rich. I have about 1100 miles on it as of now and waiting to get it tunes. I just install HKS Hi Power exhaust replacing the Hymee exhaust seen in photo. That exhaust is 2.5" which is on a small side. I have mazsport midpipe and with the HKS the car is pretty quiet. I hear more turbo spooling sound and engine sound more than the exhaust. I don't know I will get my car to dyno. I don't care about the number as long as it is tunes properly. I am sure it will be over 300 whp. So far I am happy with the Esmeril kit. It runs smooth and no problem what so ever. I accidentally got into boost a few times during merging into highway and the thing felt like it was on after burner.

Spec:
Esmeril kit. Turbo size is T4 which is a bit bigger than the earlier version. As far as I know I am the first one to have the updated version (According to Chris, the newer verson turbo has T4 flange and comes with new lower profile wastegate)
Tial 60 mm BOV
Tial 38 mm low profile wastegate
Esmeril LS2 coil with connectors from BHR for plug and play to stock connectors instead of split wires and solder them
Colder plugs as recommended by Esmeril, these will be install during tuning. Now running stock NGK plugs
High flow fuel pump
Interceptor-X
Other stuffs:
Turbohoses clamps
Boostlogic turbo blanket
Tons of heat shielding around turbo area and pipes
Mazmart water pump
Mazmart cooler thermostat
Stock radiator, live in cool climate and stock radiator is adequate
Mazsport mid pipe
HKS Hi Power exhaust
Mazdaspeed light weight fly wheel
Mazdaspeed front/rear strut bars
Agency Power Pulley
Koni yellow shocks
Progressive front/rear sway bars
Racing beat end link
Mazdaspeed front bumper
Axile Flow short shifter
Stainless stell clutch line
Racing Brake fluid
Prosport gauges
Innovade LC1 O2 WB sensor
Amsoil syn oil in transny and rear differential
May be some more stuffs but I have to sit and think...

Have you changed the Dwell settings for the coils in the INT-X. Not to start a whole issue here but from what i hear its not good to run them on a FI car without a dwell change.

Yes, Chris changes the Dwell setting in the Interceptor with this new coil. I forgot what it was but it is the same value that Ray from BHR recommends.

giant favor to ask. Screen shot of that screen on the INT-X. I plan on going with the BHR coils and am curious what settings you are running.
Whenever you get the time it would be appreciated.

I wish I could do that for you. I don't have a laptop. I have my company laptop and I can't install the software to run the Interceptor X to get that screen shot for you. It bests if you PM Chris or talk to Ray at BHR about the setting. I am sure one of these two guys can help you out.

works for me. Seems i had a little issue with my int x and Okada coils. Int-x got fried somehow( i htink it was the wiring inside cuz it was not a good deal) and that caused The Okada Coils to burn up.... so now i have a new Int-X on the way and should be here thrusday and i am currently back to the stock coils, waiting to see if it starts and rusn iwth the new INT-X. If it does, then i will get the BHR coils to make everything solid. Sucks that i am having so many issues with the kit, but seeing how yours is doing well and no problems kinda gives me some hope.

Isn't BHR coil uses Yukon coil? Esmeril coil uses LS2 coil. I don't know what the different between the two is. The kit is set up to run with LS2 coil along with some specific Dwell setting. Do some research on this before you buy them to make sure they provide similar performance. Esmeril coil has to be soldered and requires spicing stock ignition coil wires. I dont' like that idea so I bought replacable connectors for LS2 coil from BHR for $80 and it works great. Just plug and play.
Make sure the interceptor X you get is programed for Esmeril Kit. Mine running smooth and no issue whatsoever. I am sure yours will be the same once you get all the right stuffs together.

Go to Fluidmotorsports and select engine section, scroll down to below part #
Part Number:FMD-IGH-010Description:RX-8 Ignition Harness
After many requests for an ignition upgrade options we are now offering the RX-8 community plug and play harnesses for MSD or LS2 style coils!
This allows placement anywhere within the engine so relocation can easily be completed and you can create a complete Do-it-Yourself Ignition Solution with the coil pack of your choice!
No cutting, splicing or soldering, just plug into the factory RX-8 harness and plug in the coil YOU would like to use.
Each harness is strain and continuity tested before shipping to ensure years of trouble free performance.
Esmeril coil come with similar wiring but they need to be solder to the harness in the engine. It is not an easy thing to do and it is a messy job. This unit would replace the wiring harness that come with the coil. Just plug and play making life much easier.

sweet thanks
Anyone on the boards running the MSD coils that Fluid sells? Four would be $380. Around the same price as the LS2 coils Esmeril has.
EDIT: Scratch that... did some searching on my own.

As for the dwell settings, as per the install instructions, you can have the dwell set between 2.0-4.0 on the Esmeril Coils (if memory serves me correctly). The other important setting is that the Int-X will be set for Negative for stock coils, and will need to be switched to Positive for the Esmeril Coils... (or maybe it was vice versa). Point is, dwell AND polarity need to be modified in your settings screens, don't forget that. In anycase, the coils come with pretty idiotproof instructions, I don't think messing it up is an issue, lest you like to ignore directions

I am contemplating going with either the Esmeil coils or the MSD coils. I am assuming that with the MSD Coils the polarity would have to be switched also seeing how the Esmeril kit and the MSD would both be for a LS2 engine?

^a word of advice to those contemplating the Esmeril Coils. Either way, get the BHR harness. I didn't and it just makes for needless hassel. Not to mention more hassel if you wanted to revert to stock.

I'm a little confused because a lot of people are saying "BHR harness" with X coils... I wasn't even aware that BHR sold the harness without the Yukon coils attached with the mounting plate... are you talking about the Fluid harness or is CRH selling the Black Halo harness without the Yukon coils and the whole plate?
