I remember reading this thread not that long ago right when you started it. Congratulations for pioneering a new system in record time.
I can't wait to see the dyno pulls, and thanks for contributing alot to the RX-8 community.

Thanks. Couldn't have done it if it wasn't for all your support.
The sound quality is real crappy.
It filters almost everything except for the low frequency, But I guess if put the volume up, you ca hear it.
I used a Digital cam, to get the videos. and my cam adds this ugly pulsating noise, which got filtered by the google compression soft, but you can still hear it.
Maybe if I find a place to store it, I'll put up the original vids (higher resolution) for download, or make some better vids.

Which gauge is your boost gauge? Is it the one on the left on top of the dash? If so, when you are revving in neutral it looks like you hit boost nearly instantaneously. I don't see any appreciable lag from it.

In neutral, it barely gets up to 2-3 PSI if I rev hard.
There is some lag there. It is not bad. The system is actually quite linear. But the lag is present to some degree. Off course more tuning is required to work out the driveability issues, But I am currently short for money. Some house renovations and stuff... I'll take her to Tampa, some day to get the fuel system and injectors upgrade, and have Scot tune it maybe later. So far, I keep on tweaking it here and there, but nothing major.
The most annoying thing is the easing into boost.
It tends to somewhat boggle down around 0-1 psi and then fire off.
If I give it a lot of throttle, this does not happen. It runs smoothly.
Has to be something connected with the load map I guess.

It's actually quite impressive considering you just guessed at the turbine size to use for remote mounting. STS spends lots of time trying different ones to figure out which one to use.

If it wasn't for all the still unresolved issues this could be a perfect conclusion to the tread. the final post. The God Of Rotaries has blessed thee

Some updates:
Been driving the crap out of my car and now I have over 2000 miles on it with the turbo.
I have been doing some street tuning, so now she runs very smooth and strong, though the stumbling when easing into boost in the 2 psi range has not gone away.
I am beginning to gather up some necessary stuff for redoing the exhaust tubing after the turbo. Instead of the funky bended dual exhaust I got now; I plan to put in a big 3" single pipe with a small resonator, and replace the internal waistgate with the 40mm External HKS waistgate I have sitting in my garage.
A question, the external waistgate I have, has a 16 PSI spring installed. How do I get it to be more sensitive? Can I just clip the valve spring somewhat?
Ill start working it sometime in January.

I finally got around to reading this thread.
Massive congratulations to you! You've done an excellent job!
More importantly, you've documented well how one can go from just the barest understanding of how a system like this works to having a fully operational and properly tuned vehicle, completely autodidactically.
BTW - I'd love to see some screen captures of your Int-X tune. Specifically, the IDLE_AUX, LOAD, t_MAP and t_RPM screens. Wouldn't hurt to see the AUX_WOT and WOT_RPM screens, too.

Glad to see you'll be taking my advice to rework your exhaust and go with the single pipe
I think you'll notice a nice increase. Maybe a little less lag as well.

Goto the "load" screen and toggle to 0" and 2psi, slightly increase the amount of fuel there then pull some from the 2psi screen in the "idle_aux" screen to make the step to 2psi smaller.

Buy a lighter spring say 4-6 psi and use your controller to increase the levels above that point. I suggest you NOT cut the spring, but thats another conversation...Scott

To get the screen captures I need to go a bit out of the way.
I wanted to do it earlier, but stumbled into a somewhat of a problem:
I use a 7 year old Dell Inspiron laptop to do my tuning, and that thing has no built in network card.
It has a removable wireless card in it, but a few months ago, my wife spilled some orange juice onto the thing, and now it doesnt work.
I remember I had the network card for a laptop somewhere, But I just can't find it. Until I do, I am afraid there will be no screen captures.

Seems to transition smoother.
I haven't had a chance to drive this settings just did one pull, but still, the improvement is noticeable.
Thanks.

Just an update on how everything is.
at this point, the car runs great. I continue on working on the tune little by little.
Make a change, drive around for a day. see something I don't like , make another change, drive around...
To this day I have more than 3K miles on the system...
I am seriously considering the Mazsport Fuel System Upgrade, and Injector Upgrade and will most probably do it this winter. I guess I need to get with Scott to discuss his availability and time.
A cool episode:
The other day, I was driving home from work and next to me was a black Bentley. I did not drag race it, I just drove the car hard (as I always do) and on a clear straight, I floored the car, and so did the Bentley guy. I took him by surprise and got ahead of him by quite a bit at first, when I was already in 5th gear, He did finally caught up with me and passed me, but when we came to a traffic light the guy jumped out of his car run to me all exited and asked what I had in it. I told him, that I run DIY rear mounted turbo @ 10 PSI with Int-X. He was like "boy she is fast, I got V12 680 HP in that Bently and it took me an quite a bit to catch up...".
he said that his kid has an Greddy turboed 8 and it is OK, but mine is really quick.
Well... That really made my day.

Interesting experiment I did today.
I was messing with the Int x, where I enabled the function that allows the secondary Injectors to come in at a predefined RPM. ...God Why can't I remember the damn function and screen names?
Anyway, after that I turned up the % Stage to 05 and found a very interesting behaviour in the engine:
As soon as I try to rev, it gets very rich, and even in neutral, starts building boost like mad.
I mean I was able to hit 6 PSI of boost in neutral. How sick is that? Also how is it possible?
Why does the turbo suddenly starts making all that boost?
Scaling the %stage down did not change the behaviour, until i turned it back down to 0.

Maybe it's making so much boost because your turbo is too small? :O Just an idea.
I didn't read the whole thread, so maybe you ended up switching turbos. A T3/T4 is much too small for a rotary. Even many T4's are too small..Full blown (read: fairly big) T4 is the only way to go.

Update:
Today, I had a professional shop redo my piping going from the turbo to the intercooler.
I used 2" aluminized steel pipe, as it is cheap, and easy to fabricate.
Though I will no longer have clearance issues, I now have in-cabin noise. The pipe runs very tight along the body. There are places where it comes in contact with the frame, and transfers a **** load of vibration when under heavy load.
Not too pleasant.![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Anyone knows of some good soft, durable and heat resistant material I could use to cushion areas where the pipe comes into contact with the car chassis?
Pics are to come soon
