over 40% increase of fuel with the turbo

i just wanted to make sure nothing is wrong here. without the turbo i was getting over 500km and now with the greddy turbo I get about 300km. is there any settings that i need to play with here (air/fuel) mix or is everything ok here.

thanks for your help

I seem to have the same problem with bar glasses, I can't figure why the drinks disappear so quickly, I think it must be a hairline crack that I can't see or something...

it's evaporation. the high alchohol content in the glass will evaporate the liquid before it gets to your lips. It's nothing you are doing wrong per say. Try drinking faster and see if that helps.

Yeah, the stock Greddy maps run pig rich. Get teh Greddy Support Tool software and tune it. You will get better gas mileage & more hp to boot.

why do the greedy maps do anything to the vacuum areas?

They don't, but who drives around in vacuum once you have boost?

With the gas steadily approaching $4/gal, I'll be in vacuum as much as possible.

if you get a real EMS system, you can lean out the mixture like crazy while in cruise. On long trips, I get better MPG with the interceptor than before

even still, with gas prices, i've been forced to full time beater driving status

How much did you lean out your fuel under cruise Epitrochoid? I leaned myne out to around 14.4, but figured I could probably go leaner.

Well, I noticed my gas declined sum b/c of how pig rich the map is w/ the turbo. But, better rich than sorry, and believe me after those morons 6 months ago "tried to tune my car", I was very sorry.

15:1 IIRC. It's nice because my exhuast tips are nice and clean on the inside after long trips.

epitrochoid, do you have any backfire issues when you let the gas pedal go? i ask because my AFR is around 16-17 when i'm decelerating, and that's when i hear the pop pop pop's.

well... i got pulled over twice already for the backfire. thank god i decided to put the plastic engine cover back on after the turbo install. should've seen me with the dremmel 2 in the morning hacking up the intake box.

yep both times. got pulled over for going 5mph over the speed limit on a 45mph road where everybody goes 50-55.

i did get off with a warning on both occassions. i'm now waiting for the interceptor to be installed so i dont have to deal with keeping the rpm up even while approaching a stop sign when i see a black & white crown vic in the corner.

Damn that sucks that u had to pop the hood. I need to look out then cus I have massive backfires w/ this kit now. If I lift quickly off the throttle when decelerating it is the worst. Sumtimes I get like 4 or 5 in succession to one another. Just curious, is ur BOV recirced or open? Mine is open but I would really like to recirc it, and I think that would help sum w/ the backfiring, along with dyno tuning and playing w/ the maps.

my bov opens in the plastic intake box. the plastic casing probably wouldn't hold much pressure, so i'm going to say it's open. it does make the bov sound a lot quieter when cruising under 3k rpm. i do plan to make the bov open to the intake at some point in next couple months.

i was told that interceptor-x will eliminate the backfire completely, so i'll let you know if it works out for me in the early may. dyno tuning didn't really help me much, as i've already been to two different dyno sessions by reputable shops here in southern cali for the sole purpose of getting rid of my backfire. i still get that 4-5 successive loud pop's when i'm coming to a stop after a decent amount cruising at around 3-4rpm. it was fun in the beginning, but now it's rather stressing me out.

When I started with this kit I had a bad random backfiring issue, especially with the hi-flow cat. After I tuned the Emanage it got about 50% better but still had some backfire, even when I put the stock cat back on. With aftermarket/other EMS you are able to dial it out quite a bit more

To date I have yet to backfire even once. The interceptor doesn't use the MAF for air metering, so there's no need to do anything special if your BOV vents to atmosphere (which mine does). Go into your emanage and make sure the MAF voltage is clamped under vaccum, and that shound fix it.

I'm confused - I've never heard of a cop making you pop your hood? What exacly are they looking for? Here in texas if a cop tells me to pop the hood I'd tell him no. He's not a mechanic and has no business under my hood.

Care to clairfy whats going on with the cops/looking under the hood thing?

probably not in texas, but in california, cop can ask you to open up the hood if he suspects anything illegal under the hood. actually it's quite the norm. they can give the 'fix-it' ticket, which can be a huge headache depending on your set-up.

they pull you over for anything from dark tint to milk can exhaust here in cali. consider yourself lucky if you don't have to sweat everytime you pull next to a cop.

epitrochoid, thanks for the confirmation. eliminating backfire was one of the main reasons why i got the interceptor... mine's coming in a week or two! i've done everything i can to eliminate backfire with my greddy e-manage... nothing really seems to work.
