OH P-Port Info Wanted

So i'm looking to get a full P-Port done on my Renesis. I want to replace the stock housings with the housings from a GSL-SE. I have seen it done before, but don't know what goes along with it. If someone has the answers to my questions, it would be greatly appreciated!
  • What are any other parts I need besides the housings?
  • Do I need a standalone ECU? If so, what is a good one for the job?
  • What are the power figures that go along with it?
  • Any other tips or suggestions that would help me along.
This is of course filling in the stock sideports.
If there is a form that answers these questions that I couldn't find, I would appreciate if you pointed me in the right direction.
Also, if anyone has a better solution for power, please let me know! (without swapping engines)
Car: 04 6-Speed Purpose: Track/Show Car

Honestly, would an engine swap be more worth the time and money, or should I stick with the Rene?

if you replace the renny housing to any other rotary housing you will need a custom exhaust header. also if the renny side irons are going to remain you'll have even more exhaust ports to worry about. then there is also the intake track but that's a different issue
you more or less are looking at making a hybrid engine( I would highly suggest keeping the renny front plate for ecu usage). I'm not 100% certain if the oem ecu could account for all the changes someone with more knowledge can chime in.

if it were me personally I would just get a remain renny with a mild street port and tune

If I was doing a hybrid with P-ports , I would fill up the side port sleeves with stainless steel plates as much as possible (leaving the port itself alone) . Then block off the port exit . This would work better than having 5 exhaust outlets in both a turbo and N/A ...IMO .

Also, can someone explain to me why P-Port holes cant just be drilled in the stock MSP side housings? I think i'm missing some info here.

Coolant passages, you'll open those up to your new ports, those passages are usually filled with something, metal/epoxy/et cetera, and then essentially a pipe is put through the new hole into the housing.

Is toying around we with the Renesis worth it? If time and money aren't issues, should I just swap in a REW?

The same argument could be made for an LS... None of this is smart or rational. Pick what you like and run with it.

You're asking the wrong questions. What is your power peak and delivery goal? Engineering workflow is to determine the intended result and design for it, not design for the sake of it and continue working until an undefined goal is met.
