time to go to a 20/50 oil and warm her up gently?
wise to be careful with the fuel pressure.
what are your thoughts on the front bearing stress?

Go Juan! And Ray! Don't blow up though!

PS I know everyone says power is addictive etc, but for me, my car is awesome now.
I have no desire for anymore. Just more opportunities to hit the track etc....

Pre-mix with 10mg Valium per gallon.

We are adding more torsional loading, but I have not yet heard of any front bearing failure, even if you are not running the 20-W50 as recommended by Pettit.
(Hopes I won't need to check that bearing, ever)

I use 20-W50 Valvoline or Castrol for the engine (dino flavoured) and use Royal Purple 20-W50 in the blower itself.
I have always liked the tear down results of an engine running Valvoline.
It's very nice to have no crud in the crankcase when an engine is torn down.
I have not yet torn apart a Castrol engine, but I have had as many friends swear by Castrol as Valvoline.

Negative Ghost Rider. I'll do that after an engine rebuilt and replacement of the Eccentric Shaft Thermal Pellet.

Every time I think of it I get flashback from a nasty clap episode while stationed in Korea back in 1986.

"Dino Flavoured" Eek!

Is not about crud/sludge in the crankcase. Is about keeping all the rotor seals and rotor O-rings from getting stuck/brittle due to dino spuge leftover.

RP 50 weight for the blower and a cocktail of lead (to combat Florida's 10% ethanol gas) and Marvel Mystery Oil for pre-mix.

did they treat that clap with the old marine corp method involving a hammer?!

DIno for me after tearing down my engine with 50K and 40K of that on RP. SHould have seen my front bearing. It was through the copper on one side. This was really before the s.c. and the belts were OK. Rest of her looked pretty good as far as waer was concerned--the lubricated areas I mean.
Castrol GTX 20w/50 for me. I have heard people swear by valvoline also.
Changing oil q 3K-5K and keeping the engine cool will take care of the seals etc.
DO NOT run RP in the trans!!!
On the pellant --i have heard both pros and cons on doing that.
Has the intake temps gone up with the increased boost? Time to change the w/m nozzles?
Yokohama s drive tires on today for every day driving---very sweet! Makes a new car out of it.

A hammer?

Nope, a trip down to the ville home schooled doctor. Total cost a jar of mayo and two packets of hotdogs (black-market items back then).

Well folks, I guess is time to let you know about my latest mod. After weeks of begging Cam let me purchase an SC Automatic eccentric shaft pulley. I other words, a 5-inch pulley instead of the SC Manual 4.5-inch. I finally had the time to install it this afternoon. I took the car for a quick around town test and I immediately noticed a bit more of blower whine were before I could not hear due to my Exotic Speed header/RB race pipe/RB exhaust combo. I got 10.3 psi boost at @ 8200 rpm. The SC belt needs a bit more tightening (new gatorback 33.5 inch) but I’m waiting for it to stretch before I readjust it. According to a website with a pulley conversion that I use, my new drive pulley ratio is 1.479 from 1.331 At 8200 rpm the blower is turning at 12,127 rpm. I would have to hit 8800 rpm in other to max the blower’s 13000 rpm but why should I since 8200 rpm is where peak hp rest. Noticed that my AF ratio fluctuate below 12 when the engine rpm is below 8000 rpm and just over 12 after 8000 rpm.

Anyway, before you start thinking (I got to get me one of this) I highly recommend you to address your SC RX8 ignition, injectors and methanol injection or you might end up rebuilding your engine due to a catastrophic case of detonation. Mine runs with MSD and NGK 10.5 leading ~ 11.5 trailing plugs for ignition, 440 (blue) secondary injectors, 50/50 mix of VP Racing M-5 methanol, RP 10W-40 and K&N oil filter.

I’m installing a temporary fuel pressure gauge tomorrow just to verify that the fuel pressure does not drop below 60 psi while at full throttle (drive it like you stole it) mode and from sustained highway cruising speed to (I hope there is not a cop ahead, behind or around the corner) mode.
I'm glad others are trying this. You should be seeing 10lbs of boost@4000 rpm though. Also, the blower is now spinning @13,800. Not to worry though, it can handle even more than that.

Well I'll stick with RP since it is what Racing Beat recommends and have the experience/reputation to back them up. Also David Canitz RP Tech Services Manager and professional race drive of a GT3 RX3 (Big Time Rotorhead) recommends the same. Heck! I use synthetic oil even on my lawn mower. Now that I think of…I wonder if synthetic oil can enhance french-fries flavor like MSG?

I'm getting there. I installed a temporary fuel pressure gauge today but did not have the time to take the car for a test. BTW all previous log attachments were taken with the DSC on. I will do a couple of passes with the DSC off once I feel comfortable with my current setup.

I will find out later this month at the dyno. For now 100m/l before the blower and 60m/l after the blower.OD

That’s right…here’s what’s coming next:

RX-8 Race Pipe with Presilencers

The RX-8 forums have been active with requests for a resonated RX-8 Race Pipe, and we've responded!
It seems that the popular Mazsport resonated race pipe (which featured dual Racing Beat universal presilencers) is no longer available on the market. We've decided to fill the void and offer a revised version of this resonated race pipe using two presilencers that have been specifically designed for the limited space available in the RX-8 chassis. These reconfigured presilencer units will assure adequate chassis clearance and eliminate the need for the "spacer" blocks that were required with the Mazsport unit. The revised presilencers should be in-house within 6-8 weeks.
Thanks to all of the RX-8 forum members for their input!

you will like that midpipe--i have been running one for some time and it is as quiet as stock until you hammer it down. the spacers were no problem. need just a little room--not much.

Well then, I havent Dynoed yet I just installed three weeks ago, theres a local tuner that just got the pro logger software for the 8's Cobb AP and Cobb is doing a 10% sale during December that will probably never happen again ,,, sooo it should be very soon...

Of course Im not one of ther lucky few testers that happens to have the new pulley, but I hit 7lbs on a conservative tune from Pettit

EDIT- well maybe not 'any' rpms,,,(pre-measures against language/grammer mongers)
